10 Coolest Things To Build

One of the most relaxing and entertaining things about Pokémon Pokopia is the freedom it gives you to stretch your creative muscles and build up fantastic worlds for your Pokémon friends to live in. Whether you’ve completed the story or haven’t ever left Withered Wasteland, decorating and designing areas is full of possibilities and is an activity that you can easily spend many happy hours with.

When I first played through Pokémon Pokopia while reviewing it for ScreenRant, I struggled to keep moving the story along rather than spending all my time creating homes and terraforming the world around me. The tools and items that the game provides you, even simply by allowing you to scavenge from the ruins the humans left behind, can inspire so many beautiful builds. You can choose to rebuild what the humans left behind, or tear everything down and start from scratch. Either way, the creative potential is endless.

A Stunning House For Yourself

Pick Your Favorite Area And Treat Yourself

First and foremost, if you’re going to be creating beautiful worlds, you should start with a home base. I’d suggest deciding which area is your favorite and working there, but you could also build wonderful homes for yourself in all the worlds in Pokopia. You can invite your favorite Pokémon friends to move in with you, or keep it all to yourself.

For your own house, go wild. Build it as big and grand as you want, or make yourself a cozy cottage. Use paint and customization options to make it unique and truly your own. Use all your favorite furniture and decorations. You could even create a massive castle if you wanted. Really, it should be whatever will make you happy to see each time you log into the game.

Public Swimming Pool

Lifeguards Optional, No Running

Across from my house in Withered Wasteland, I made a fairly simple public pool area, complete with pool floats and plenty of chairs to lounge around in. Looking around online, you can see there are plenty of examples of people going all out in designing these swimming pools with flowing waterfalls, water slides going down steps, and gazebos.

Some people have even placed special changing rooms with showers to the side of the pool, so if Squirtle needs to change into his swimming trunks, he can.

Rebuild The Museum In Rocky Ridges

Or Make A New One From Scratch

Deep inside the mountains in Rocky Ridges, you will find a mostly caved-in ruin of what used to be a fairly grand museum. With marble walls and large pedestals that presumably once held completed fossils, this museum must have been impressive in its day.

As you play Pokémon Pokopia, you will often stumble across some of these fossil parts and might be wondering where to put them. Naturally, a museum would make sense, giving you the chance to either uncover and rebuild the museum as it once stood or scavenge from these ruins and build something entirely new.

If you’re anything like me, this will then inspire you to seek out more fossils so you can complete some of these massive skeletons.

Central Park Of Pokopia

Make Use Of Outdoor Decorations And Make A Gorgeous Park

No matter which area you want to focus on, yes, even Rocky Ridges, your Pokémon pals will appreciate having a little respite in nature to wander through and enjoy. Making a large park, with green grass, flowing fountains, and even a playground, will not only provide a pleasant area to look at and feel peace, but can also fill in some of those pesky corners of your areas that you don’t quite know what to do with.

There are numerous park-related items in the game, particularly as you continue to upgrade each area to expand the selection at the PC store. Statues and park benches are a good place to start, but use your imagination to build the park of your dreams to drastically improve both your experience and that of your Pokémon.

Pokémon With Trade Will Do The Rest

As you may have already noticed, once you find Pokémon with the Trade specialty, they will employ themselves anywhere there is a working cash register. While it does have to be connected to electricity, they don’t seem to be very picky about anything else in order to start offering things for trade. Generally, the rebuilt Pokémon Centers will become a storefront for these industrious pocket monsters, but you could make it much nicer for them.

Build any type of store or even an outdoor shopping mall or farmer’s market type of situation, and as long as you have a table and a cash register that’s connected to electricity, your Pokémon will fill in the merchandise and take it from there.

Resort Spa Or Hot Spring

Make Use Of The Hot Water From Vending Machines

After you learn how to make your own pools and lakes with Wooper’s ability, the vending machines are a treasure trove for creative waterscaping. Particularly the Roserade Tea, which is one of the random possibilities from the vending machine. Inhaling this tea will allow you to spit out steaming hot water, which is perfect for a hot spring or spa for you and your Pokémon to relax in during your time in Pokopia.

Whether you want to stick with simply a small hot tub or create a massive, multi-level resort spa, you can use this steamy liquid to make an inviting and calming spot for everyone. Just watch out for Machomp’s massages, they can get a bit rough.

A Five-Star Restaurant Fit For Chef Dente

Doesn’t Have To Be In Rocky Ridges

Given that we already have the world’s most talented chef at our disposal, it’s only natural that we might want to consider making a restaurant to fit her status. As you may have seen during the storyline of Pokémon Pokopia, you can set Chef Dente to follow you and bring her to any location you wish, so as long as you make a suitable home to invite her to live in at the restaurant, you can design this in any area you choose.

Unfortunately, she isn’t going to be actually serving up meals, as she would presumably rather see you do the cooking, but I’m sure she would still appreciate a high-quality restaurant to call her own.

Planetarium Or Observatory

Where Did Those Pesky Humans Go Anyway?

On the top floor of the ruined museum in Rocky Ridges you will find a room filled with models of planets, an astronaut suit, and even a miniature rocket. The walls and floors here have a unique space-themed starry design as well. By pilfering these items and blocks, or even rebuilding the room if you have built the museum back up, the game is almost asking for you to make a stunning planetarium or observatory.

The entire game of Pokémon Pokopia has many subtle and not-so-subtle references to space travel. Although your Pokémon may not all understand the meaning behind this type of build, designing a building or space devoted to that theme would be magnificent.

Massive Habitat Homes For Like Type Pokémon

Treehouse For Flying, Water Home For Water, Etc.

I still need to do this in my game, but across the internet there are numerous examples of people who have designed stunning builds for housing their Pokémon. Particularly things like watery aquariums for their Water-type friends and even massive treehouses for their Flying-type, like the treehouse shown above, which was created by PuddingExpensive7655 on Reddit.

Not only do these types of specific houses generally make the Pokémon of that type very happy, but they can look beautiful in your worlds as well. If you really want to try making something impressive, use the Chili Sauce from the vending machine to make a lava-filled home for those Pokémon who always complain about wanting things hotter.

Make The Mysterious Mural A Destination Location

And Fill It In If You Can

In the Withered Wasteland there is a hidden room devoted to the Mysterious Mural. Although finding all the pieces to complete this mural is a massive undertaking, rebuilding this room and highlighting it as a destination can be a stunningly impressive sight. Simply lighting up this room can be enough to inspire you to keep looking for these mural pieces, as the room itself is already pretty grand.

Of course, there are many creative directions you can take in your worlds in Pokémon Pokopia, thanks to the selection of tools the game provides us. Use your imagination and make the world your own!
