All Ditto Disguises In Pokémon GO (April 2026)

Another month means more opportunities to catch Ditto in Pokémon GO, as long as you know which disguises the Normal-type has transformed into. With the release of Pokémon Pokopia and the 30th Anniversary celebration for the series, Ditto’s disguises have greatly expanded, at least for events. Although the celebrations for a new game and an anniversary have come and gone, Ditto could remain more hidden than ever.

The very beginning of March 2026 saw Ditto’s disguises expand beyond the usual 10-12 Pokémon they usually become. Similarly, the mid-point of the same month revolved around Pokémon Pokopia, which had a Ditto transformed into a human as its main character. As new events take place this month, it’s uncertain if Ditto’s disguises will continue to be expanded, but the rules for catching the Pokémon remain the same.

Find The Right Masks For An Elusive Pokémon

To catch a Ditto, you have to encounter a Pokémon it is using as a disguise first. For example, if Ditto is disguised as a Teddiursa, encountering Teddiursa normally has a chance to be a secret Ditto encounter instead. When you catch one of Ditto’s disguises, the message “Oh?” will appear on your screen, revealing the hidden Normal-type instead of whatever you just captured.

Normally, there are 11 Pokémon Ditto always uses as their base disguises, but the collaboration with Pokémon Pokopia and the 30th Anniversary event has greatly enlarged that list. As of this time of writing, there are 33 possible Pokémon that Ditto is using as cover, creating a large variety of possibilities. However, it is worth noting that the events from earlier in March 2026 are over, meaning new disguises may have been removed.

All Ditto Core Disguises

  • Mankey (Fighting-type)
  • Seedot (Grass-type)
  • Growlithe (Fire-type)
  • Magnemite (Steel/Electric-type)
  • Voltorb (Electric-type)
  • Slakoth (Normal-type)
  • Whismur (Normal-type)
  • Sentret (Normal-type)
  • Duskull (Ghost-type)
  • Teddiursa (Normal-type)

  • Bulbasaur (Grass-type)
  • Charmander (Fire-type)
  • Squirtle (Water-type)
  • Pikachu (Electric-type)
  • Drilbur (Ground-type)
  • Goomy (Dragon-type)
  • Combee (Bug/Flying-type)
  • Scyther (Bug/Flying-type)
  • Sudowoodo (Rock-type)
  • Timburr (Fighting-type)
  • Maril (Water-type)
  • Hitmonchan (Fighting-type)

All Ditto 30th Anniversary Disguises

  • Kakuna (Bug/Poison-type)
  • Spearow (Normal/Flying-type)
  • Ekans (Poison-type)
  • Sandshrew (Ground-type)
  • Geodude (Rock/Ground-type)
  • Poliwag (Water-type)
  • Nidorino (Poison-type)
  • Gloom (Grass/Poison-type)
  • Cubone (Ground-type)
  • Ditto (Normal-type)

Some of the 30th Anniversary Pokémon are the same as Ditto’s core disguises, but this doesn’t mean specific creatures are twice as likely to be Ditto’s cover. Much like any wild encounter, each of Ditto’s disguises have unique spawn conditions that make them harder to find if you aren’t looking in the right place or at the right time. As an example, Duskull is a Pokémon that appears most often at night, making them a Ditto disguise you’ll have a hard time finding during the day.

How To Increase The Chances Of Finding Ditto

Special Items Will Help Improve Appearances Of The Right Pokémon

Ditto Pokemon GO

Ditto isn’t a particularly powerful Pokémon, but is sometimes useful in Raids or Gym battles. Depending on the Candy you’ve accumulated for Ditto, this Pokémon can either be a wild card for battles or a unique collector’s Pokémon that is fun to have in your back pocket. To catch more Ditto, you need to use luring items to make the Pokémon’s disguises appear more often as you travel.

Incense that attracts Pokémon or causes them to show up more can be used to make Ditto’s disguises abundant at your location. Lure Modules are also great tools to attract the right Pokémon, but not always in the way you’d expect. Make sure to check what kind of events are taking place as you search for Ditto, as the rarest Pokémon in Pokémon GO might have missions tied to special encounters for them if an event has a certain theme.

Given how many possible disguises there are for Ditto due to previous events, one of the easiest ways to find the transforming Pokémon is to do Research for those events. If you have Research stored up, you’ll be able to create more encounters where Ditto could appear.

Shiny Ditto are twice as hard to find as normal Ditto, as you only have a 1 in 64 chance of finding a variant of the Normal-type. With the regular form of Ditto only appearing randomly from one of its disguises, you have to get lucky twice for a Shiny Ditto to show up. When comparing the odds, there is only a 1.5% chance that any Ditto you find will be Shiny, with little to no ways of manipulating that luck beyond brutal repetition.

For Shiny hunters and those who just want more Ditto for their collection, teaming up with friends who have Incense or Lure Modules can be the best course of action. Collaboration makes it easier for Pokémon to spawn, ensuring that the Ditto disguises in April 2026 are found more often in Pokémon GO, with extra disguises providing far more chances for rare variants to be discovered.
