“It’s an evolving situation… any kind of assessment is a work in progress,” said Gaurav Gupta, President – India Two-Wheeler Business, referring to the impact of ongoing conflicts on supply chains and exports.
“We are assessing it on a real-time basis and taking actions in the best interest of our customers, employees, and partners.”
Against this backdrop, the company, which entered the electric two-wheeler market in January 2020, has for the first time crossed 300,000 units in annual retail sales.
On the domestic front, it sees strong headroom in electric two-wheelers, where penetration remains in single digits. “What is most important is product-market fit based on deep consumer understanding,” Gupta said, adding that the company invests heavily in studying user behaviour before product development.
Its EV portfolio, spanning premium to mass segments, is evolving alongside shifting consumer expectations. “Adoption is not limited to one age group anymore… it is expanding across a wider set of users,” he noted. Beyond utility, vehicles are increasingly seen as experiential products, driven by design, performance, and connectivity.
TVS is also tapping into emerging lifestyle trends such as adventure touring, which is gaining traction with improved road infrastructure and rising demand for experiential mobility. “Adventure riding and exploration will grow faster than what we have seen in the past few years,” he said.
