Apple TV Has Joined Roku’s Subscription Add-On Lineup

Roku has added Apple TV to its add-on subscription roster, the streaming company announced Tuesday. Now, Roku users can subscribe to Apple’s streaming service directly through its Premium Subscriptions page on The Roku Channel. Apple TV has had an app on Roku since the streamer launched in 2019.

Going forward, Apple TV — which dropped the “Plus” last year — will be accessible through both its standalone Roku app or via your Roku account. Similar to Apple’s deal with Prime Video, this level-up for the streamer aims to attract more subscribers.

The deal timing aligns with the return of Major League Baseball to the streamer, which will kick off the 2026 season later this month, and the start of the Formula 1 season, which roars onto Apple TV this weekend. Notably, this news comes on the heels of Apple and Netflix’s joint deal to stream the Formula 1 documentary series, Formula 1: Drive to Survive.

Apple TV is now a part of Roku Channel’s Premium Subscription lineup.

Roku

“Through the scale and power of Roku’s platform, we’re able to drive viewer engagement and discovery of premium services like Apple TV while increasing choice and flexibility in how viewers access great subscription content,” said Gil Fuchsberg, Roku’s president of Subscriptions, Partnerships & Corporate Development. “We’re excited to keep expanding the Premium Subscription options for our viewers with more content partners, new collaborations, and compelling promotions.”

The goal with Apple TV, and the more than 70 streaming services currently on Roku, is to deliver a seamless viewing experience. It cuts out the need to create new account information and passwords, allowing you to access the content you want to stream with a single login, whether using a Roku device, the Roku app or on the web at my.roku.com.

Roku customers can sign up for Apple TV on The Roku Channel in the US for $13 per month or $99 per year. Eligible customers can try the service with a seven-day free trial. You can sign up on compatible Roku devices or at go.roku.com/appletv.
