We all know that Disney Plus is the hub for Disney content, new and old, along with Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar and National Geographic. While it’s comforting to revisit those classics, the platform also releases plenty of new shows and movies each month, including original series, Disney Jr. titles, Nat Geo documentaries and older library content such as sitcoms, reality shows and films. You can even find live sports on the streamer. (The Walt Disney Company does own ESPN, after all — gotta respect the corporate synergy.)
This April, Disney Plus is delivering entertainment that will please fans of just about every genre and franchise. April 6 marks the series premiere of Star Wars: Maul — Shadow Lord, a new animated show that’s canonically set after the events of the Clone Wars, and new episodes will drop weekly all month.
You can also catch new episodes of the Marvel series Daredevil: Born Again, weekly, live episodes of American Idol and a banana ball game between the Savannah Bananas and the Party Animals that’ll stream live on the platform Saturday, April 25 at 7 p.m. ET.

The newest entry in the Star Wars universe, Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord, will premiere on April 6 with two episodes. The animated series, set after the events of the Clone Wars, depicts the Sith lord Maul (voiced by Sam Witwer) as he plots to rebuild his criminal syndicate on Janix, a planet untouched by the empire. Additional characters are voiced by Gideon Adlon, Wagner Moura, Dennis Haysbert and Richard Ayoade. The series will have a total of 10 episodes that wrap in early May.

Banana ball is back and bigger than ever this year! What first began as one team with a dream (that would be the Savannah Bananas) is now a full-blown league with six teams playing their own version of baseball that throws some dancing and a few very specific new rules into the game. On Saturday, April 25, you can catch the Savannah Bananas play against rivals the Party Animals live from Yankee Stadium in New York City. You can watch the sold-out game from home on ESPN Unlimited or Disney Plus at 7 p.m. ET.
