When Is Assassin’s Creed Hexe Coming?
Set to be a much darker and more linear entry in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Assassin’s Creed Hexe will reportedly take us to 16th-century Germany during the Holy Roman Empire’s famous witch trials. Featuring a more RPG-heavy playstyle and stealth-focused gameplay, rumors suggest that a single female protagonist called Elsa will lead the story as she battles with her own supernatural abilities and a battle against her persecutors.
However, last month saw industry insider Tom Henderson share an update on Assassin’s Creed Hexe’s development, revealing that Ubisoft are “redoing” the game’s combat, even going as far as to hire a contortionist for the motion capture, with the game’s combat reportedly featuring an acrobat-esque style. Henderson also revealed that Ezio would make an appearance, serving as a teacher for Elsa, and last but not least, Assassin’s Creed Hexe is planned to launch in the holiday of 2027.
Over on r/assassinscreed, fans have been speculating over this potential release date, with many hoping that Assassin’s Creed Hexe would be released as early as this fall. “Usually, when all goes well, big Assassin’s Creed games are released in October/November,” a recent post shared. “Next November though is the release of GTA 6 (for now). A lot of game companies will scramble to get out of the way. I think AC Hexe will too… “We’ve seen that Shadows was a March game after a delay and now the rumored Black Flag Remake could be a March game. March seems to be a month Ubisoft likes for big games.”
Assassin’s Creed Fans Are Pretty Hyped For This One
Put simply, fans are feeling the hype for Assassin’s Creed Hexe thanks to the game reportedly having a much darker and grittier story than what we have seen before. As such, it is no surprise that the discourse over on Reddit continued, with fans expressing their thoughts on its potential release date. “With Hexe being about witches and such, a release date around Halloween would make even more sense!” One fan pointed out. However, another fan is feeling hopeful that we will receive it earlier than 2027. “No way they delay Hexe out of Fall 2026,” they wrote. “The game has been in development since mid-2021 and is smaller than Shadows.”
With no confirmation from Ubisoft itself, it is worth taking all of this news with a pinch of salt, but what we do know, is that fans are eagerly anticipating the launch of Assassin’s Creed Hexe and its reported turning point for the franchise as a whole.
