Receiving generally favorable reviews from critics and audiences alike, Assassin’s Creed Shadows has since welcomed its Claws of Awaji DLC, but now, to celebrate the game’s first anniversary, Ubisoft has announced a free reward for players.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Is Celebrating Its Birthday With A Freebie
On 20 March, Assassin’s Creed Shadows celebrates its one-year anniversary after launching on macOS, PlayStation 5, PC, and the Xbox Series X/S, before launching for the Nintendo Switch 2 on 2 December 2025. Now, to say thank you to fans for supporting the game for an entire year, Ubisoft has announced a free reward which players will be able to redeem in game.
“Enjoy a free reward for our One‑Year Anniversary!” A Tweet from the official Assassin’s Creed Twitter account reads. “Redeem the code through the link and your reward will be delivered in your in-game inventory.” The free reward in question is a switchblade which can be redeemed with the code ACSH-GIFT-YEAR-2026 via the Ubisoft website. Once redeemed, it will be available to equip in-game and there is no denying that it will make an excellent addition to Naoe’s already impressive arsenal.
With some fans thanking Ubisoft for the epic reward, whilst others are disappointed that an in-game weapon is all we receive for the one-year anniversary, you cannot please them all.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Is Still Getting New Content
Not only is Ubisoft giving us the chance to grab ourselves some in-game freebies, but it is just further proof that Assassin’s Creed Shadows is still receiving new content to this day. With many previous Assassin’s Creed entries getting left in the dust not long after launch, it is reassuring to see that this is not the case with Shadows, even though there is no denying that Ubisoft is already hard at work on the next Assassin’s Creed entry.
With the next entry expected to be Assassin’s Creed Hexe, audiences will be traveling to the 16th-century Holy Roman Empire with a focus on the witch trials. Expected to launch between 2027-2028, it is rumored that we will take on the role of a protagonist called Elsa as she navigates a much darker, and more linear story.
