Bollywood director Kunal Kohli shared a huge remark on social media during the fifth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Wednesday. Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals were in action at the Ekana Cricket Stadium when Kunal took to social media to label them ‘among the most boring IPL teams’. While the Delhi side has been a part of the tournament since its inception in 2008, LSG joined in 2022 as part of an expansion that increased the league to ten teams.

“With due respect to some of the players I really like in #LSG & #DC these 2 teams are def amongst the most Boring #IPL teams,” wrote Kunal, who has directed films like ‘Hum Tum’ and ‘Fanaa’, on X.

He also said that Chennai Super Kings are a “tough contender” without veteran player MS Dhoni. Notably, the 44-year-old player is currently undergoing rehabilitation for a calf strain and set to remain out of action, with his return date still unclear.

“A tough contender is #CSK – without my all time fav #MSDhoni – with #MSD I’ll watch net practice also. #IPL2026,” wrote Kunal.

The Bollywood director termed Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals as the teams he loves. For watching RR’s matches, he credited the presence of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.

“Having said that always love #RCB #MI #KKR & now #RR because of #VaibhavSanghvi (sic),” he wrote further.

Sameer Rizvi gave ample display of his talent, coming in as an ‘Impact Substitute’, as Delhi Capitals cantered home by six wickets against Lucknow Super Giants despite initial stutters to make a winning start in the IPL on Wednesday. Chasing a lowly target of 142, DC were reduced to 26 for 4 within first five overs but Rizvi (70 not out off 47 balls), substituting T Natarajan, conjured an unbroken 119-run stand for the fifth wicket with the seasoned Tristan Stubbs (39 not out off 32 balls) to ensure full points in just 17.1 overs.

Earlier, LSG put up an embarrassing batting display with some questionable tactical calls to be shot out for 141 in 18.4 overs after Delhi Capitals skipper Axar opted to bowl first.
