While it is not a multiversal story, Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘s cast includes characters like the Hulk, the Punisher, Scorpion, and, allegedly, Jean Grey, played by Stranger Things‘ Sadie Sink. This upcoming Marvel movie is a dream crossover project for MCU fans. To get ready for the movie, a 2026 Marvel release puts together three key heroes before Brand New Day comes around.
Spider-Man, The Punisher, And The Hulk Meet Before Brand New Day
Marvel Comics has announced Spider-Man: Long Way Home, a new limited series that features the wall-crawler, the Hulk, and the Punisher in a very different scenario than the one they will be in the MCU movie. The 5-part series is not set in the Marvel Universe’s main continuity, with the three heroes going after the Cosmic Cube that A.I.M. has just created.
Spider-Man: Long Way Home #1 will be released on June 17, a month and a half before Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives on July 31.
The Marvel adventure sees the trio journey to the jungles of South America, where each character is trying to keep the Cosmic Cube from going to the wrong hands, leading to a three-way fight. Written by Jonathan Hickman & Adam Kubert, with art by Kubert, Spider-Man: Long Way Home is set before Frank Castle becomes the Punisher, with the Hulk only a rumor at this point, too.
Spider-Man: Long Way Home Is The Perfect Companion To Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Spider-Man: Long Way Home is one of the best ways Marvel could add to the hype surrounding the upcoming MCU movie. For starters, it unites the film’s three biggest heroes in a fresh setting, providing a tale unlike what fans are expected to see in the MCU, but that highlights how fights and interactions between the three should go.
Spider-Man’s First R-Rated Movie Is The Closest It Has Ever Been
The first R-rated Spider-Man movie in history is now the closest it has ever been after a new franchise update that could change the hero forever.
On top of that, the new limited series does something that Marvel fans have been asking for a long time. Spider-Man: Long Way Home is MCU synergy done right. In the past, fans have complained about how certain characters, suits, teams, and storylines in the comics and animation were changed to reflect what was going on in the MCU. This became a recurring practice.
The 2026 Spider-Man release does away with that, taking the action to a separate universe outside of Marvel Comics continuity. With its exciting story, major characters, and proximity to Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the upcoming Spider-Man: Long Way Home should not only be a hit but help boost interest in the movie, with the opposite also applying, making for a two-punch Marvel knockout.
