Watson debuted in January 2025 and is now set to wrap with just two seasons. The medical drama put a fresh spin on Arthur Conan Doyle’s iconic character, with Morris Chestnut starring as Dr. John Watson in a modern-day re-imagining of the Sherlock Holmes universe.
Rather than chasing criminals, like viewers are used to seeing Sherlock and his merry band doing, this version of Watson shifts its focus to solving complex medical cases, leading a team of “doc-tectives” dedicated to diagnosing and treating rare diseases.
Season 2 was filled with lots of twists and turns. After the team’s apparent victory over Moriarty [Randall Park], Watson was met with a major twist: Sherlock Holmes [Robert Carlyle], long believed to be dead, resurfaces. His return forces Watson to confront a secret tied not only to his past, but to something hidden deep within him.
