Developed by Pearl Abyss, the game will supposedly offer hundreds of hours of content for players to enjoy, with players exploring the continent of Pywel, in a narrative-focused experience where players will be attempting to save the land from a mysterious looming threat.
All of that obvious potential in mind, we don’t actually know if it’s able to deliver on its promise, with reviews still currently under embargo, despite the game currently being in the hands of a lucky few. Now, it seems the first impressions have emerged online early, and it’s good news for everyone who is excited to play on day one.
A Streamer Has Shared Their Full Thoughts On Crimson Desert
Over on Reddit, one user shared the news that Korean streamer and YouTuber G-tti had shared his impressions after playing for ten hours a day since he managed to get his hands on a review code.
Particular highlights include the world design and in-game systems, with the latter described as fulfilling without creating player fatigue. He also finished the game without the day one patch, and noted that he encountered very few bugs regardless, with everything that felt off addressed in the aforementioned update.
The headline quote, however, is that he was more than happy to describe it as the “game of his life,” while at the same time another Korean reviewer, when asked about their opinion on the game, simply shared a 1998 quote about Ocarina of Time that states, “Savor it, because this is as good as it’s going to get for a very long time.”
That’s all very good news for those of us excitingly waiting in the wings, with G-tti also confirming the inclusion of features like GTA V-style character swapping, regional difficulty changes and details about inventory space, all of which sound pretty cool.
Crimson Desert Could Be Something Special
With all of that in mind, Crimson Desert really could be a special experience that absorbs hundreds of hours of players’ time over the next few months. We already knew it was going to be a physically massive release set in a huge open world, but if it’s as engrossing as the streamer claims, then it could have everything needed to be one of the best games of the last few years.
