Thanks to the rather brilliant modding community over at NexusMods, we now have a new suite of mods simply titled ‘Cyberpunk 2077 Unofficial DLC 2’. A bold statement of intent from the modder Jon Cross, who is no stranger to the Cyberpunk 2077 modding scene. In fact, they have been adding high-quality content to the game since 2024.
Cyberpunk 2077 Unofficial DLC 2 Adds 50 New Locations
So Much More Still To Explore
The mod boasts a rather impressive list of over fifty new locations to explore. These range from new apartments, mansions, shooting ranges, roller coasters, pool parties, new nightclubs and plenty more in between. This collection of content could help reshape the world of Night City and give players a fresh look at a city that they’ve become so familiar with. A brilliant addition to the game while we wait for new official Cyberpunk 2077 content.
The new locations blend seamlessly into the base game and even add new elements to existing missions that may surprise some fans. Storming an underground bunker with Panam, and suddenly you’re looking at the entrance to the BatCave, waterfall and all…yes please! Once derelict areas now have a fresh lease of life that enhances each mission you take on. It feels like we’re getting hidden missions and new content from Cyberpunk 2077.
Cyberpunk 2077 Originally Had Multiple Planned Expansions
A Treasure Trove Of Cut Content
CDPR had great ideas for Cyberpunk 2077 and many expansions in the form of DLC were planned. With its shaky launch though, the team spent most of their time fire fighting and fixing bugs rather than focusing on launching new content. We did eventually get the rather amazing Cyberpunk: Phantom Liberty DLC, but it’s clear from all the cut content hidden in the game files that so much more was planned but never executed.
Thankfully, these unused assets, hidden within the game files are an absolute treasure trove for any modder with some skill and a creative streak. CDPR may have moved onto bigger projects like the visually stunning upcoming The Witcher 4, but the faithful modding community will keep the beating heart of Cyberpunk 2077 for many years to come. Now if you’ll excuse me… I’ve got a yacht to play on and a few mansions to explore!
