The current patch brought forth a bit of extra content for players to play through, taking them back to the region of Mondstadt. Moreover, it gave them the chance to finally pull for Varka in Genshin Impact, who made his debut in Version 6.4 – at least as a playable character. Now, players should start looking further down the line, as there have been plenty of leaks about Version 6.5, most of which are expected to be confirmed during the upcoming Version 6.5 livestream.
Genshin Impact 6.5 Livestream – Date & Time
The Special Event May Happen In Late March
Even though developer HoYoverse has yet to make an official announcement for the special event, it is possible to predict when the Version 6.5 livestream will happen based on the company’s previous behavior. Patches are often spread six weeks apart from each other, arriving on Wednesdays, and their respective livestreams tend to happen two weeks prior, on Friday mornings. Because Version 6.4 arrived on February 25, Genshin Impact 6.5 will likely be released on April 8.
As a result, the Version 6.5 livestream is likely going to occur on March 27, next Friday. These livestreams tend to happen in the morning in the United States. Even though the prediction is most likely accurate, it’s best to wait for the official announcement made by HoYoverse, which should happen a few days prior to the actual event, via social media posts. If the livestream does not happen by then, it could be a sign that the update itself is delayed.
Genshin Impact 6.5 Livestream – New Character & Banners
Linnea May Make Her Debut Soon
Based on the leaks that stem from the beta tests, as was reported by Honey Hunter World, Version 6.5 should only have one new playable character. Linnea is said to be a 5-star Geo character who wields a bow in battle. According to the leaks, Linnea specializes in dealing Lunar-Crystallize Reaction DMG to enemies, while off-field, which could make her a great sub-DPS for Zibai in Genshin Impact.
Additionally, the leaks say that Linnea can heal her allies while also boosting the power of Hydro Crystallize reactions. Because of how Zibai’s best team comps work, it’s most likely that Linnea will also work well with Columbina in Genshin Impact, who acts as an indispensable unit for Zibai to wreak havoc with her Lunar-Crystallize reactions. Overall, it seems like Linnea will be the third unit in that team comp, possibly replacing Illuga or Garou.
During the Version 6.5 livestream, all the details about Linnea should be revealed, and any changes that may have happened to her during the beta tests may be confirmed as definitive. Nevertheless, we should get a better, more illustrated understanding of how Linnea works in the field, aiding other party members in the process.
In addition to highlighting the brand-new character, the Version 6.5 livestream should also present the banner structure for the upcoming period. A rumor by Seele Leaks was shared in a post on Reddit, mentioning that Chasca, Lauma, and Nefer in Genshin Impact may be the rerun characters for Version 6.5. This does make sense, considering how they are long overdue for a new appearance in the banners, but this will only be truly confirmed during the livestream.
Genshin Impact 6.5 Livestream – Story Updates, Events, & More
Expect New World Quests, A Boss Fight, & Much More
Even though the leaks haven’t shown that there will be a new Archon Quest added with Version 6.5, the update shouldn’t be bereft of new narrative content. Leaks have highlighted the presence of new World Quests being added in Version 6.5, and if they will, indeed, be added, this will likely be teased during the upcoming livestream. HoYoverse doesn’t tend to reveal much when it does highlight story content, but we’ll at least get some confirmation.
The leaks also show that there will be a new World Boss in Genshin Impact, who will drop Character Ascension Materials for Linnea. This boss will allegedly be part of the rumored new map areas added with Version 6.5, which should also be mentioned during the livestream.
As is the case with every livestream for the RPG, HoYoverse will also showcase and detail every event that players will be able to participate in during Version 6.5. This includes showing what the event is about, all the activities they will get to partake in, and the rewards for their participation, such as free Primogems in Genshin Impact.
Even though we won’t necessarily get new campaign missions, the RPG will likely expand with the new patch, and there will be a lot to do during the six weeks. Of course, it’s best to manage expectations for now and wait for all the official reveals made during the Genshin Impact 6.5 livestream soon.
