According to reputable leaker Nate the Hate on YouTube, The Duskbloods won’t be launching until late 2026. If so, the wait for a new FromSoftware game in the midst of Elden Ring Nightreign’s post-launch dry spell may be incredibly trying and interesting.
Duskbloods Is Reportedly Coming In Late 2026
The Duskbloods hasn’t been released or had true, dedicated gameplay showcased, and yet fans have been decidedly more apprehensive about it than, say, if FromSoftware’s upcoming game was a classic single-player Soulslike. That’s not to say The Duskbloods’ PvPvE formula is inherently bad or undesirable, but Elden Ring Nightreign wasn’t every fan’s cup of tea. As another multiplayer-centric game, The Duskbloods was never going to have the same mass appeal that Elden Ring and traditional Soulslikes could conjure.
Regardless, we are now three months into 2026 with no update on when The Duskbloods will launch beyond its initially promised 2026 window. It’s fully possible that it could be featured at June’s Summer Game Fest 2026 with a release date announced for sometime this summer, to be fair, but this late-2026 rumor already seems plausible when so little of The Duskbloods has been officially shared or teased thus far.
It’s Still A Switch 2 Exclusive
Unlike some games that have timed exclusivity on a particular console before becoming available on multiple platforms, The Duskbloods appears to be tethered inseparably to the Nintendo Switch 2. It’d arguably be a huge mistake to make it multiplatform if the whole idea was to leverage FromSoftware’s success and popularity in order to sell the Nintendo Switch 2, but it’d be quite presumptuous to assume that The Duskbloods will be a generation-defining game for the Nintendo Switch 2 like Bloodborne was for the PlayStation 4.
If nothing else, The Duskbloods releasing late into the year or being delayed until 2027 would merely mean that Nintendo Switch 2 gamers have longer to wait than they thought, which could optimistically raise anticipation. And, the longer the wait is for its release, the longer the wait will be for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox gamers to get their hands on The Duskbloods — if it is ever unshackled from its exclusivity, that is.
