HIGH GROWH

The industry growth in southern markets for tractors is higher than the same in the northern markets, he said. Growth in northern markets in the first 11 months of this fiscal was about 23 percent while in the south India, it was at 26 percent. Rice is cultivated over 40 million hectors in the south which makes the special paddy tractor a potential offering in the farm equipment market, according to the company.

The company has lined up a slew of products to be launched for south – specific products, he said, adding: “We will launch another product in next four to five months.’’ Broadly speaking the company plans to ramp up its product portfolio by launching eight to 10 products a year across its three brands over next five years..

Developed for paddy cultivation, the Shourya series is engineered for reliable operations in wetland and waterlogged field conditions. It incorporates cassette-type sealing across critical aggregates to help prevent water and mud ingress during operations. Priced in the range of Rs 5.75 lakh to Rs 7.30 lakh (ex-showroom), Shourya features a sharp turning radius of 3.1 metres to support manoeuvrability in small and medium-sized field conditions.

The Powertrac Shourya series comprises five variants across the 39 HP to 52 HP category range. The launch marks the first time the Powertrac brand is introducing a dedicated paddy and wetland-focused series developed specifically for the paddy-growing regions of southern India, including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
