Since the unexpected drop of the Verso’s Drafts DLC that Sandfall Interactive released after their GOTY win, fans never know what to expect when it comes to Clair Obscur updates. And that trend continues this week with Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 getting an official surprise update in the form of Patch v1.5.3 (via Steam).
Clair Obscur’s Latest Update Is A Welcome Surprise
Clair Obscur players just got a surprising and welcome update with Patch v1.5.3, and while there’s no official new content added in the update, it includes some much-needed quality-of-life fixes and addresses some ongoing bugs that fans have been experiencing.
The patch includes updates and improvements to the beloved new Photo Mode feature, such as facial hair not displaying properly and certain effects not working how they’re supposed to. Most importantly, patch v1.5.3 includes the following gameplay improvements and bug fixes based on player feedback:
- Fixed an issue where loading a save while picking up a journal could cause that journal to disappear permanently and become impossible to collect again.
- Missing journals are now also restored retroactively when loading affected saves.
- Fixed a soft lock that could occur during the Chromatic Glissando encounter in Sirene’s Dress level, when a dead expeditioner equipped with Shortcut and Second Chance pictos was swallowed.
- Fixed an issue on Gestral Beach where using the Rematch option after losing the volleyball minigame could create a blocked save.
- Fixed a visual issue where characters affected by Inverted would not have the correct colour effect applied to their eyes.
Further, the patch addresses multiple environmental issues, such as unwanted collisions, misplaced assets, footstep sound effects, and more. It’s a huge patch that promises to dramatically improve the player experience from top to bottom.
Clair Obscur Has Plenty Of Secrets To Find
Clair Obscur fans have a brand-new reason to dive back in for another playthrough with patch v1.5.3, and there’s no shortage of secrets still out there.
