Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 Title Splits Gamers

We’re two thirds of the way through the Final Fantasy VII Remake, with the final part set to drop at some point in 2027, and it’ll serve as the conclusion to what has been a pretty epic return to one of the greatest PlayStation games of all time.

The original Final Fantasy VII Remake dropped in 2020, and it was almost entirely focused on the opening, urban section of the game, set in Midgar. That was followed up by Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which picks up where the first left off, after the party escapes from Midgar, with both games adding additional content and features for a fresh take on the beloved narrative.

Now, there’s just one more game to go, and fans have been debating what exactly it should be called when it does finally release to round everything off.

What Will Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 End Up Being Called?

Over on Reddit, one user went to ask the Final Fantasy community exactly what they felt the final part of the trilogy should be called. Assuming they are planning to stick with words beginning with “R”, responses regularly listed words like Reunion, Retribution, and Resolve as potential options.

Others put forward their own ideas, with one saying, “My top pick is Reclaim, second is Return, and third is Reprise (although I highly doubt this one but I can’t realistically imagine any other).”

Another added, “Reformed is my bet because it’s both “something separate coming back together” (the multi parts of the trilogy, and multiple, separated parts of something in-universe), and it’s also reform like a criminal reforming their ways (and I reckon they’re going to go down a minor redemption path).”

“I think Return is the best choice even if I don’t really like how it sounds, it’s a bit cheesy and blockbustery, but thematically it’s the best choice (return to the planet, Cloud’s return to himself, the return of Jenova etc),” a third said.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 Should Arrive Soon

Given just how long AAA development seems to take these days (cough, cough Bethesda), the fact that the Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 is almost certainly coming in 2027 is actually a pretty positive outcome for the community.

When it does arrive, it will hopefully serve as the epic conclusion we have all been waiting for, bringing the Final Fantasy franchise forward in the same way that Resident Evil was rejuvenated with the arrival of Requiem.
