Final Fantasy Legends Officially Return For Brand-New Game Coming March 2026

The Final Fantasy series has featured some iconic characters over the years, and everyone has their favorites, often tied to the game in the series that resonates the most with them.

Whether that means you’re forever locked into Cloud Strife from FFVII being the G.O.A.T, or Terra Branford from its predecessor being the one who strikes the perfect balance, there’s always at least one that stands above the rest.

With that in mind, a game that promises to bring back many of the most iconic faces in franchise history is certainly one to pay attention to, and Square Enix has made that a very exciting reality in their latest upcoming release.

Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy is a new game from Square Enix for iOS and Android that they describe as a “3 vs 3 Team Boss Battle Arena.” As first reported by Siliconera, three new trailers for characters set to be included in the game and all of them are absolutely iconic, with Rinoa Heartlly from FFVIII, and the aforementioned Cloud Strife and Terra Branford set to feature.

In each of the new trailers, we get a good look at the new character designs, as compared to the original versions, alongside a preview of their voice actors and abilities they’ll be using in battle. All three characters look great, and much more like what players would expect in 2026, while the game itself looks pretty spectacular for a mobile effort.

The full list of characters confirmed to be available in the game so far are as follows:

  • Warrior of Light (Final Fantasy)
  • Kain Highwind (Final Fantasy 4)
  • Krile Mayer Baldesion (Final Fantasy 5)
  • Terra Branford (Final Fantasy 6)
  • Cloud Strife (Final Fantasy 7)
  • Rinoa Heartily (Final Fantasy 8)
  • Zidane Tribal (Final Fantasy 9)
  • Lighting (Final Fantasy 13)
  • Gaia (Final Fantasy 14)
  • Prompto Argentum (Final Fantasy 15)

Set in modern day Tokyo, the new adventure is much more grounded in reality than anything we’ve seen from the Final Fantasy series so far. All of the characters have entirely new outfits, with four fighting styles depending on which characters you favor – Ranged, Melee, Support, and Agile.
