Free Steam RPG Has Cozy Gamers Obsessed

A cozy RPG that is available for free on Steam has made players obsessed with it, and if you haven’t checked it out yet, this may be the best time for it. You can find thousands of free titles on the platform, but not all of them are good. It requires some filtering, and even with that, some great titles may go unnoticed. There’s a free 9/10 narrative hit on Steam, for example, that will certainly please fans of visual novels centered around the story.

Among the many titles that may have flown under your radar is a late 2025 release. OverField is a completely free-to-play cozy RPG available on Steam. The title, created by INUTAN Limited, was released in early November last year, but it didn’t get much attention. Even so, those who have played it are praising the game’s coziness, its gameplay mechanics, and everything else the game has to offer.

OverField Is A Cozy Free RPG On Steam

This Free Game Is Inspired By Life Sims

Several Overfield characters have a barbecue feast.

OverField is a third-person cozy RPG set in a miniature-style 3D world that blends reality with elements of fantasy. Like many of the great life sim RPGs it is inspired by, you’ll control your character and personalize them as you expand your house and social life while also exploring the world around you. The game allows you to have a calm lifestyle, helping build the city, produce items, and also engage in combat.

In OverField, you can collect different types of characters through a gacha system – each character has a different look, a different set of abilities, and more. Those familiar with gacha games like Genshin Impact or, especially, Infinity Nikki, may feel at home with this RPG. There’s a lot to do and see with your characters in OverField, including fighting enemies, participating in mini-game activities, and collecting objects.

OverField Has Positive Player Reviews

The RPG Has Been Praised By Gamers

Since its release on Steam, OverField has seen some pretty great player reception. At the time of writing, the game has 81% Positive reviews from its players on the platform. As seen in the review section on Steam, user DianaRAWRS mentions that it is a “very cute game” and that they wish there were more guides about the game. To that point, they also highlight that the community is “helpful and friendly.

User HazeDreams says that OverField is “probably one of the most engaging gacha games” they’ve come across, highlighting the fun character designs and the lore. They also say that they “highly recommend” the game to others.

So far, it seems like OverField has left a good mark on the majority of players, even if some others haven’t enjoyed it too much. Even so, it doesn’t seem like there are too many concerns around the gacha mechanics, which are often a problem in these games. As such, it may be worth checking the RPG out for free on Steam, even if only for a while.
