God Of War Official Kratos Recast Is A Hit With Gamers

Anyone who has been playing the God of War series since it first debuted all the way back in 2005 will know that the character has been through quite the evolution over the last twenty years or more.

Though he has retained his core physical appearance (though aging a little), and his penchant for smashing deities to bits, the character that we see in the more recent Norse games is noticeably different from the one we got to play as in the original trilogy.

A lot of that comes down to the differing performances of the two actors who took on the role in each distinct period, and with a remake now in the works, the original voice is also set to return, and fans are pretty delighted about the whole thing.

God Of War Now Has Two Amazing Kratos Actors

When news emerged in February that the original God of War trilogy would be returning via remakes, fans were understandably excited that the classic games would be coming back in a new form. Understandably, conversations quickly turned to whether original Kratos actor TC Carson would also be coming back, following which it was confirmed that he would.

Carson himself has remained relatively silent on the matter ever since, though during an appearance at Mega Con Orlando (as first reported by IGN), the actor stated his belief that the developer “realized they let him go prematurely.”

In a post sharing that quote on Reddit, fans were quick to share their thoughts on the Kratos re-recast, back to the original voice.

“I hope this doesnt mean there wont be any more games with Judge. I have become VERY attached to his version of Kratos,” one said.

“‘Prematurely’ implies there was ever gonna be a perfect time to dump this man. The dude was the highlight of the recent State of Play, he should be in every one going forward, even when there’s no GoW news,” another added.

“Christopher Judge bought a weight and presence to Kratos that the earlier games didn’t have. I always saw Young Kratos as more reckless and driven by vengeance. Although it’s the same character, they feel completely different for the most part and I think both work for the right reasons.” a third said.

God Of War Fans Welcomed Back T.C. Carson With Open Arms

TC Carson’s return makes sense for the original games, and his turn as the character is pretty legendary, so fans have been more than happy to welcome him back with open arms. We do hope that Christopher Judge will return to the role in the future as well though, as his God of War games also remain a real high point for the series.
