That said, the developer has been predictably tight-lipped about what exactly fans can expect, and all we’ve really got to go on is what we have seen in the two trailers, as well as anything the community has managed to glean from the limited confirmed leaks we have had so far.
So what to do in the meantime? Well, the obvious solution if you’re looking for a crime-riddled fix is to jump back onto the still-excellent GTA V. Unfortunately, what was available at no extra cost is going away for many very soon, and you’ll need to spend more of your hard-earned money if you’re hoping to play again.
GTA 5 Is Free For Millions… Until April 15
Over on Reddit, one user shared a screenshot from the Xbox store, confirming that GTA V will be leaving Xbox Game Pass on April 15. If you have been keeping track of it over the last few years then you’ll know that it has cycled in and out of the service several times over the last few years, but this likely serve as the final time it will do so before the release of the sequel.
Comments underneath the news were predictably unenthused with the news, with one saying, “I am going to guess it’s because GTA VI will be out sometime “soon” and they want players to play GTA VI instead of GTA V. So making it less accessible is one way to do that.”
Another made a good point about it excluding one demographic of players, saying, “For everyone saying this isn’t a big deal… It is for those of us that have Xbox One and stream the X|S version of it on Game Pass Ultimate. After April 15th I’m cooked. I can’t download the game for X|S, but I can stream it through cloud play only.”
Xbox Game Pass Has Plenty Of Open-World Games
Fortunately, if you aren’t wedded to it being a GTA game and you’re more looking for an open-world experience, Game Pass does still have plenty of brilliant options. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim are all available now, and serve as brilliant ways to pass this upcoming weekend.
