GTA 6 Gamers In Love With Official Update From PlayStation

Grand Theft Auto 6 is months away, but that hasn’t stopped fans from celebrating it early. While we don’t anticipate further delays for the massive open-world project, anything could change between now and release, and we’re still waiting for the third trailer to drop.

For now, fans are loving the recent PlayStation update, as highlighted on X. It’s a nice way to pass the time if you’re counting down the days.

You Can Grab It Now

PS5 System Update Version 26.02-13.00.00 is out now, and it has a pretty cool new feature that you can experiment with. Sony added new features to the Welcome Hub portion of the PS5 interface, which lets you “use Showcase Mode to display a full view of your Welcome hub background when your PS5 console is idle: when turned on, your Welcome hub automatically enters Showcase mode when idle.

Essentially, you can create a slideshow via the album system. In other words, you can get GTA 6 screens on your PlayStation 5, then cycle them through.

“PS5 flexing hard with this one. Vice City on loop, let’s go,” one fan writes. “This is lowkey one of those features you don’t think about, but once you use it, you can’t go back,” another muses. One fan also gave us a good tip: “If you press L3 when you’re on the welcome tab, it removes everything right away instead of having to wait.”

Some are holding out for the PC release and don’t own a PS5, but that could take months based on prior PC port timelines. For reference, Grand Theft Auto 5 came out in September 2013, and it wasn’t until April 2015 that a PC port arrived. That could change, but since Rockstar is such a big company and Grand Theft Auto 6 is such a massive game, complications may arise. Plus, we need to consider GTA Online taking up resources in all this.

While you enjoy your slideshows, Rockstar is likely working on the finishing touches for GTA 6, and dealing with some legal issues. Right now, GTA 6 is officially over half a year away.

If you’re a hardcore GTA fan, you’re probably doing anything you can to pass the time, from GTA Online to crafting GTA 6 slideshows. When this game finally does come out, it’s going to encompass the industry for a few months.
