Over on Reddit, a fan thinks they’ve uncovered footage from the upcoming AAA powerhouse, but other fans aren’t so sure.
The New GTA 6 Leaks Don’t Give Us Much To Go On
Unless You Really Like Bridges
It’s that time again. We’re going to see an increasing amount of leaks for Grand Theft Auto 6 going forward, so take them all with a graint of salt.
Here’s the setup for the newest allegedly leaked footage: “Know a bloke who used to work at R*. They sent me this about two months before the 2022 leaks happened. Been sat on it for ages, but since they don’t work there anymore, figured I’d drop it. Tbh it literally shows nothing, just asked them to show me a spot they were proud of working on. Quality is absolute shite though cuz they sent it via email (had to compress it). Never thought I’d actually post it cuz its a nothingburger.”
In this supposedly leaked footage we see…a bridge. One fan succinctly notes, “hell ya, a bridge,” while another waxes poetic on leaks in general: “You know what, I’d say this is very likely real. That being said, it shows basically nothing of interest at all, so what even is the point of putting it out there?”
Other users took to roasting: “It seems like people didn’t learn from that alleyway leak incident, because this is very clearly just someone recreating the final scene of Trailer 2 in Unreal Engine. The amount of confidence being expressed in this thread, claiming it’s ‘very likely real,’ is embarrassing.”
Another was keen to play devil’s advocate: “Let’s see if it gets taken down, then it might be real.” Well, it’s happened before! Either way, even if this leak was authenticated, it doesn’t add much to the overall mythos of GTA 6 pre-launch. Given that it’s technically footage of an existing place shown in official game materials, it’s not a bombshell.
We’re Better Off Waiting For GTA 6 Trailer Three
Hopefully It’s A 20+ Minute Breakdown
When we do get footage for Grand Theft Auto 6, I hope it’s an extended look at the game, and not a vibes-based trailer. While it would be nice to save a lot of narrative-based surprises for launch, it would be equally great to see what Rockstar has planned for GTA Online later this year, and how big the new game world is.
For now, we wait and parse out the leaks. When Grand Theft Auto 6 actually does launch, you’ll feel it.
