GTA 6 Official Release Date Update Has Everyone On Edge

The upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto VI easily ranks amongst the most highly anticipated of all time, with millions of players waiting in the wings to see what Rockstar has been cooking up over all of these years.

What we’ve seen of the game so far in the two official trailers that have been released looks very cool indeed, but it’s only a very limited and curated window into the game as a whole. Since then, two delays to the game’s release date have understandably left a lot of fans feeling a little skittish.

Recent months have been very quiet, and we have to assume for the time being that no news is good news, but we could be set for an update very shortly that will make or break the potential November release date.

Is GTA 6 Still On Track For Release Date?

Over on Reddit, one user shared a meme confirming that we are nine weeks away from the next earnings call for Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent company. If you weren’t aware, that’s traditionally been the point at which delays have been confirmed, and we should get similar news on the release date when the next one happens in May.

The responses were filled with a bunch of tense fans sharing GIFs and brief statements asking if there was really a chance that the earnings call could be the staging post for another delay.

“9 more weeks until all our hearts get broken,” one comment read.

“Fearful for the developers more honestly, really hoping some bs isn’t pulled and they decide to delay the game and lay off more of the staff and team,” another added.

It’s important to remember that there will be a bunch of news about the progress being made on GTA VI as part of the earnings call, but we don’t yet have any reason to suspect that they’re planning to announce a third delay to proceedings.

We’ll Know For Sure In May

Whatever does happen, we should absolutely know more once the earnings call goes out in May. If no delay is announced, then we pretty much have a clear runway to launch in November. If they do confirm that the game is being pushed into 2027, it’s tough to understand just how negative the reaction from the community has the potential to be.

Fingers crossed that GTA VI drops in November, and it’s everything we want it to be, with the multiplayer modes set to follow shortly afterward.
