The wizarding world of Harry Potter just got bigger thanks to HBO, and season 2 could arrive sooner than people think.

Harry Potter has become a global phenomenon with the original eight movies collectively grossing over $7 billion at the box office. Across 10 years, Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Tom Felton, and more brought the series to life, and now HBO have their own plans to adapt J.K. Rowling’s fantasy book series.

The Times of London spoke with HBO Chairman and CEO Casey Bloys, who revealed that, despite initially saying the series won’t release annually, not all is doom and gloom.

“Our goal is to not have a huge gap, you know, especially because the kids are growing. It’s not going to be an annual; the show is too big and too massive. But … they’re writing the season two now.”

Recently, Bloys made it clear in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that the series won’t be released on an annual basis as it’s “just not possible.” But with the new update, it suggests that fans of Harry Potter won’t have to wait too long until they see season 2.

More to come…
