However, with controversy surrounding its launch and the trailer leaving a lot to be desired, Harry Potter‘s success has a lot riding on it.
Hogwarts Legacy 2 Will Tie In To The New Harry Potter Show
In recent months, reports suggested that HBO’s Harry Potter will collaborate with Avalanche Software’s Hogwarts Legacy sequel. Despite the two stories taking place over a century apart, its creators are finding ways to tie the worlds together, and it seems that the one way to achieve this is through Hogwarts itself.
As spotted by eagle-eyed fans, the brand-new Harry Potter trailer shows us the new-and-improved castle, but rather than being an exact replica of the one that served as a base in the Harry Potter movies, it has seemingly taken inspiration from the castle design found in Hogwarts Legacy instead. In the 2023 RPG, players were able to explore the school like never before by gaining access to corridors and rooms that were never seen in the movie franchise. As such, its developers had to think about exploration when it came to its design, and it seems as though HBO has continued with this layout when it comes to the upcoming television show. Although the trailer did not show us an overhead shot of the castle, we did get to see some of the iconic areas, such as the entrance hall and the Gryffindor common room, and Hogwarts Legacy fans will definitely be able to see where the inspiration came from.
Will Hogwarts Legacy 2 Adapt This Version Of The School?
HBO’s decision to incorporate Hogwarts Legacy’s magical school into its television adaptation begs the question as to what this could mean for the highly anticipated Hogwarts Legacy sequel. Although the two stories cannot intertwine as easily, thanks to the 100-year time gap, its iconic locations can take inspiration from each other. However, with HBO’s Harry Potter expected to air in 2027, whilst there is still no news on when we can expect Hogwarts Legacy 2, it may be quite a while until we see just how far this collaboration goes.
