Luckily, there is one easy way to remedy this. Thanks to the dedicated Hogwarts Legacy modding community, there is now a way to experience the hit Harry Potter-inspired RPG with friends, and a lot of chaos is bound to ensue.
Hogwarts Legacy Players Can Explore With Friends
Created by The Together Team, HogWarp is a multiplayer experience for Hogwarts Legacy, allowing players to team up with friends and really put the role-playing aspect into the RPG. First uploaded back in 2023 but receiving regular updates up until last year, HogWarp “aims to be a framework to make multiplayer experiences possible in this otherwise strictly single player game. The focus is to provide the tools and a stable set of base features for server developers to host their own customized experience” according to its team.
In the screenshots provided on the official mod page, you can see everything that groups of friends can get up to in Hogwarts Legacy, including visiting Hogsmeade, playing Quidditch, hanging around in the Common Rooms, gardening with Professor Garlick, and even eating in the Great Hall. Additionally, this multiplayer experience is not limited to you and one other friend, as the screenshots show groups of up to ten enjoying the magical world that Avalanche Software has created.
When Is Hogwarts Legacy 2 Arriving?
With many fans wishing that Hogwarts Legacy had included a multiplayer mode, maybe Avalanche Software will take this on board for the sequel which is currently in development. However, with publisher Warner Bros. undergoing a major acquisition, when we will receive Hogwarts Legacy 2 still remains a mystery. That being said, its CEO recently spoke about the future for the company, and it seems as though the Hogwarts Legacy sequel may arrive as early as 2027-28 in order to coincide with the release of HBO’s Harry Potter, with the two projects expected to tie together in some capacity.
For now, the sequel seems to be on track, but with the gaming industry being far from stable in recent years, it remains to be seen if Hogwarts Legacy 2 will both release on time, and live up to the standards that many fans expect.
