He added that The Studio would also acknowledge how they’re a little lost right now and still trying to fully process the loss of a beloved colleague and friend.
It has been an unbelievable challenge. Obviously emotionally, dealing with the loss, but also when it comes to the show itself. We wrote it for her to be there. We had it all set and the shock waves permeate throughout the entire new season. It’s been difficult. You worded it better than we could — she was the anchor and now the anchor is gone.
If anything, we’re acknowledging the idea that we are a little anchorless. But, honestly, that is a part of life and what we all experience. And so while we try to not dwell too much on heavy themes in this show, they will be there in this second season. We are not ignoring it.
In its own way, The Studio season 2 will depict the realities of life, both the good and the bad, by tackling themes such as loss. Although not much is known about the upcoming installment, it’s clear that O’Hara’s influence will continue to live on throughout the series. While the absence of such a central figure will undeniably break the hearts of fans, the team’s commitment to honoring her work ensures that her spirit remains a part of the show.
Ultimately, the upcoming season will bring both a tribute and a transition. The series will continue to entertain, but also acknowledge the real-life challenges of coping with the passing of a loved one. It promises to balance its signature humor with moments of grief and to pay homage to O’Hara’s lasting impact on the show.
