Yep, there’s a real micro-event happening in Pokémon Pokopia for April 1 in addition to a recent crossover. You’ll want to act fast, but if you do miss it, there are options.
How To Get The Inflatable Sudowoodo
You’ll Need To Answer Three Riddles
When you load up Pokémon Pokopia on April 1, you’ll be greeted by a small message that informs you of a special event happening. This event is spread throughout every zone, and you can earn a special prize: an Inflatable Sudowoodo, which operates a lot like those “wacky waving inflatable arm-flailing tube guy” things.
Here’s how to finish the event in record time:
- Go zone by zone and look for NPC Pokémon with a speech bubble and “…” above their heads
- Speak to them and answer their riddle of which Pokémon they’re impersonating
- Repeat this process two more times
- Head to the PC at any Pokémon Center
- Select the Sudowoodo prize in the challenges section
The “riddles” task players with guessing which specific Pokémon the NPCs are imitating. They might give you a hint like a change in mood or a physical appearance, and you need to guess the right answer three times. This information, while vague, can often provide a hint to the correct answer, especially when something is completely out of character for someone.
If you have no idea, just close your eyes and pick someone, as you have a 50/50 chance of getting it right. If you’re guessing incorrectly, just move on to the next zone and meet new Pokémon with “…” speech bubbles. Eventually, you’ll be able to score three correct answers, especially if you’ve unlocked every area in the game.
For reference, you can recreate the Sudowoodo item by logging it via your camera and spending 2 Rare Poké Metals to 3D print it.
Can You Get The April Fool’s Item Through Time Travel?
Yep, It’s Pretty Easy
In case you’re reading this after April 1, you can time travel back to that date on your Nintendo Switch 2 and finish out the April Fool’s Pokémon Pokopia event. All you need to do is zone in, finish the steps above, and get the item. From there, you can keep it regardless of how you time travel in the future. Just make sure to save your game first.
Time travel is an excellent way to go back and avoid the FOMO from prior Pokémon Pokopia events. While Mystery Gifts don’t allow that same luxury, you have some options for events.
