It is pointed out that traders are adopting a cautious buying because of year ending as they do not want to increase their inventories.
Global Tea Auctioneer said that the offered quantity in leaf was 9,64,835 kg, with a 78 per cent sales, while for dust, it was 2,86,009 kg with a sale of 87 per cent in Sale 12.
In CTC leaf, the high-priced teas and better liquoring sorts were generally easier by ₹5 to ₹6 and more at times with some withdrawals. The better medium sorts were also sold easier by ₹3 to ₹4. Generally a less demand was noticed in the overall CTC leaf sale.
In leaf orthodox, the primary whole leaf grades were generally lower by ₹4 to ₹5 and more at times, occasionally some quality lots sold dearer by ₹3 to ₹4 and more at times. The brokens were lower ₹3 to ₹4. The secondaries and fannings were also lower by ₹2 to ₹3.
In CTC dust, the high-priced and better liquoring sorts were generally lower by ₹4 to ₹5 with some withdrawals.
The primary orthodox dust grades were lower by ₹8 to ₹10 and more at times with some withdrawals.
