Iron Man Just Unlocked His Epic New HELLBUSTER Armor

In today’s The Infernal Hulk #5 – om Phillip Kennedy Johnson, Kev Walker, Cam Smith, Matthew Wilson and Cory Petit – the One Above All descends to Earth to battle the Infernal Hulk, aka the demonic being known as the Eldest. The One Above All peppers the new Hulk with spears of light, all but destroying the monster in seconds.

Sadly, the fight doesn’t continue as it began. The Infernal Hulk realizes the apparent ‘One Above All’ isn’t Marvel’s true supreme being, but a robotic angel which describes itself as the embodiment of its master’s wrath. Hulk tears the godlike being to shreds, but thankfully leaves one of the One Above All’s spears on the battlefield…

As the fight concludes, Iron Man swoops in an retrieves the spear – a weapon which fans know Tony Stark is about to forge into his new Hellbuster armor.

What Is Iron Man’s Hellbuster Armor, and What Can It Do?

Solicit information for the upcoming The Infernal Hulk #6 reveals Tony Stark will forge this spear into the Hellbuster Armor – a gigantic new Hulkbuster powered by holy fire. Glowing from within, dotted with golden spikes, and surrounded by blazing wings and a halo, this is as powerful as Iron Man has ever been.

Cover images for the issue show Iron Man wielding the spear, suggesting that grasping it may allow the One Below All to work through him. Conversely, cover art is generally indicative of theme over reality, so it’s possible Tony will use the spear to build this armor himself. The latter would be more appropriate for the character, given Tony’s history of using ulta-rare elements – like the magic metal Mysterium – to forge unique suits.

Hulkbuster vs Hulk is a classic match-up in Marvel comics, but the publisher just found a new way to do it. This Hulk is no Bruce Banner, and Tony Stark’s latest Iron Man suit is channeling the power of god.
