When an elusive serial killer begins hunting the rich of San Francisco, Bishop must put all his skills to the test to apprehend the man, who may have connections to his father, Lincoln, played by John Malkovich.

This gritty cop drama should fill the void left by Bosch, which ended its ten-season run in 2025 with the finale of Bosch: Legacy. Both series are set on the Golden Coast and feature talented though troubled detectives with significant family troubles. If you loved Bosch, chances are you will love Bishop.

Joel Kinnaman Is Coming Off Of Another Crime Drama On Netflix

Joel Kinnaman is having a late-career resurgence. With roles in For All Mankind, In Treatment, and Peacemaker, Kinnaman has become a familiar face on streaming television. He’s even been in another crime drama this year, with Netflix’s Jo Nesbø’s Detective Hole, based on author Jo Nesbø’s Harry Hole novel series.

Kinnaman co-stars as detective Tom Waaler, the corrupt colleague of the titular Norwegian police officer played by Tobias Santelmann. Together, Waaler and Hole investigate a series of grisly murders. The series currently has a 93% on Rotten Tomatoes, and Kinnaman’s conflicted performance is a big piece of that.
