Gojo more than earns his status as one of Jujutsu Kaisen’s strongest characters, and the few times he has lost are still debated by fans years after the fact. That being said, Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 has just introduced a character who’s undeniably stronger than Gojo, and surprisingly, it’s not even close.
Why Jujutsu Kaisen’s Weirdest Character Is Actually The Strongest
One of the major characters introduced in Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 is Fumihiko Takaba, a wannabe comedian turned sorcerer whose powers seemingly let him do whatever he wants. That, as it turned out, wasn’t an exaggeration, as season 3, episode #11 clarified that Takaba’s cursed technique, Comedian, lets him make anything happen as long as he thinks it’s funny.
With Takaba’s Comedian essentially turning him into a cartoon character, as powerful as Gojo’s Limitless may be, if Takaba found it funny for him to hurt Gojo, Gojo would get hurt. The narration even flat-out says that Comedian could hurt Gojo, so there’s no debate that Takaba is one of the few characters with a genuine chance of defeating Gojo.
Naturally, the final arc of the manga further emphasizes that with Takaba’s fight against Kenjaku; Kenjaku was one of the strongest characters in the series, yet Takaba beat him with little difficulty after strengthening his resolve, and that should make it clearer than ever that Takaba is one of Jujutsu Kaisen’s strongest characters, if not the strongest.
Takaba Is Jujutsu Kaisen’s Best Character, Even Without His Powers
There’s plenty to love about Takaba’s character, and that’s true even without taking his power into account. For starters, Takaba is always at the center of utterly random bits of comedy, some of which work specifically because of how unfunny they are, and with how dark Jujutsu Kaisen’s story has gotten, that bit of levity is more than welcome.
More than that, of course, is the surprising amount of depth to Takaba’s character; Takaba’s fight with Kenjaku will showcase just how much Takaba’s failure in comedy has forced him to question his life, and that arguably gives him the most depth of anyone in the cast, especially for anyone who’s struggled to make it in a creative field, themselves.
Whether it’s through his incredible power surpassing Gojo’s or just through how well-written he is, Takaba is easily one of the best characters in Jujutsu Kaisen, and while there won’t be much left for him in season 3, fans can still expect plenty of great moments from Takaba later down the line.
