Speaking at a campaign rally for VD Satheesan in North Paravur, Tharoor criticized the Pinarayi Vijayan-led government, accusing it of mismanagement, rising debt, and weakening governance. He claimed that the State has become one of the most indebted in the country, with excessive borrowing reflecting a failure to build a strong economy.
Tharoor also raised concerns about the long-term impact of mounting debt, warning that future generations would bear the burden. He called for a change in government, which was essential for Kerala’s economic revival.
Highlighting employment concerns, he pointed to an alleged migration of youth from the State due to limited job opportunities, adding that investor confidence remained low under the current regime. He said UDF would address these issues, including proposing an Investor Protection Act in its manifesto.
Praising Satheesan, Tharoor credited him with consistently exposing government shortcomings and positioning the Opposition strongly ahead of the elections, hinting at a larger leadership role for him in the future.
Tharoor also campaigned for UDF candidates in Thrikkakara, Angamaly, and Kalamassery constituencies.
