Kindle Scribe will be available in UK and Germany on April 8th

The Amazon Kindle Scribe Colorsoft and Kindle Scribe with Front Light will finally be available outside of the United States. Starting April 8th, 2026 both of these latest generation devices will be available in Germany and the United Kingdom.  This is good news for people who just want to buy them directly from Amazon, rather than from 3rd-party markets.

Kindle Scribe will begin shipping in the UK starting at £449.99, and Germany starting at €519.99 on April 8th.
Kindle Scribe Colorsoft is also available in the UK starting for £569.99, and Germany starting at €649.99 on April 8th.
The Amazon Kindle Scribe 3 is the latest generation e-notebook and e-reader with a giant 11-inch screen and a traditional black-and-white e-paper display. Amazon also bills this as the Kindle Scribe with Front Light, in a little bit of mixed messaging. This device is primarily geared towards freehand drawing, note-taking, and editing e-books and PDF files. Recently, this product received a software update that allows users to edit PDF files sent to the Scribe via USB, making it easier to send files to the Scribe. If you do not intend to draw or edit documents, the Scribe makes for a very capable, dedicated book reader. The 11-inch screen is the largest that Amazon makes, allowing more text to fit than the Kindle Paperwhite, and it’s also tremendous for people with vision disorders or those who need to wear reading glasses for small text. The Kindle Scribe can increase text size or change fonts. There is also Profiles, which remembers all of your e-reading settings, in case you have one for books, one for e-textbooks, or comics.
The Kindle ScribeColorsoft has a full trick up its sleeve: a better, more color-accurate display. They have licensed the Sharp Oxide display panels. This technology was developed in conjunction with E Ink. The use of Sharp’s IGZO backplane technology enables higher frame rates and finer control over pigment placement, resulting in more vibrant colors and faster transitions. This is the first color Kindle to employ this technology.

Key Features

  • A new front light system with miniaturized LEDs that fit tightly against the display to create a narrower bezel and uniform lighting.
  • A new texture-molded glass to improve the friction when the pen glides across the screen—unlike tablets that often feel slippery or glassy.
  • A rearchitected display stack to shrink the parallax to virtually nothing, so it feels like writing directly on the page.
  • A new quad-core chip, more memory, and our latest Oxide display technology to make everything feel snappier.

Wrap UP

The Kindle Scribe and Kindle Scribe Colorsoft have long been waiting for its first foray outside of the United States. Germany and the UK has been confirmed for a couple of months now and there is no indication on where it will be available next, likely Amazon is focusing on countries with wealthy and affluent customers, along with enough warehouses and delivery drivers to get the e-notebooks out faster. If you live outside the US, UK and Germany and still want to get your hands on a Kindle Scribe or Kindle Scribe Colorsoft, you can order them from the Good e-Reader Store.
