There were also plenty of new patients in The Pitt this week, and they presented plenty of new dilemmas. Roxie, Dr. McKay’s cancer patient, finally died, while new patients like an unhoused woman, an undocumented immigrant detained by ICE, and a child suffering from heat stroke, all turned the stress levels up to 11. Too much happened to dive into every detail of The Pitt season 2, episode 11, but these are the biggest moments to remember heading into the final stretch of the season.
Emma Was Attacked By A Drunk Golfer
The cliffhanger ending of The Pitt season 2, episode 11 saw PTMC’s newest nurse, Emma, attacked by a patient. Earlier in the episode, a golfer named Curtis Larson was brought into the hospital because of combative behavior and drunkenness. Curtis arrived sedated, and Emma and Donnie treated him, intending to let him sleep off his inebriation. When he woke up, however, things didn’t go to plan.
Emma was checking on Curtis when he woke up earlier than expected. Curtis was clearly still delirious and combative, so he grabbed Emma and put her in a choke hold. Unfortunately, Curtis was in a room with the door closed, so no one can hear Emma’s cries for help. Given his mental condition, Emma could be seriously injured or even die. It’s too soon to tell, but this situation has already gone very wrong.
Langdon Finally Apologized To Santos, But She Gave Him An Ultimatum
Langdon and Santos have been avoiding each other all season long, but they finally had a moment to talk in this week’s episode. After some urging from Dr. Al-Hashimi, Langdon took Santos aside and finally told her that he was sorry for how he treated her in The Pitt season 1. Santos, as viewers will remember, was the one who exposed Langdon for stealing Louie’s librium, and he was incredibly harsh with her while he suspected she had spoken to Robby.
Though Langdon apologized, Santos didn’t forgive him. As Santos mentioned to Dr. Garcia in The Pitt season 2, episode 10, she believes the other doctors and nurses of PTMC have ostracized her because she told on Langdon. She also noted that she’s angry that Langdon got to return to the hospital after just 10 months, and that almost no one knows that Langdon was stealing medicine, they believe he was just addicted to drugs.
The Pitt Season 2, Episode 10 Confirms A Harsh Truth About Robby
Dr. Robby treated both Dr. Mohan and Dr. Al-Hashimi harshly in The Pitt season 2, episode 10, and it’s impossible to deny that he’s sexist any more.
So, Santos said she would only forgive Langdon if he publicly admitted to stealing drugs from Louie. Langdon tried to appeal to Santos by citing his marital problems caused by his drug addiction, but Santos wouldn’t budge. Now, Langdon has a choice to make: either tell the hospital what he did or continue being iced out by Santos. Given Louie’s recent death, telling PTMC what he did could be enough to get Langdon socially ostracized.
The Pitt also revealed that Dr. Al-Hashimi was listening in on Santos and Langdon’s conversation, which means she now knows that Langdon was stealing librium from a patient and the hospital. It’s hard to gauge how Al-Hashimi will use that information, as we don’t have as much information on how she operates. She could react in a few ways, the likeliest of which being that she shows compassion to Langdon where Robby has only shown him coldness.
Mel Couldn’t Handle The Reveal About Becca’s Sexual Life
Dr. King’s sister, Becca, came into PTMC in last week’s episode, and her story got much more dramatic in The Pitt season 2, episode 11. Becca told Mel that she got a urinary tract infection from having sex with her boyfriend, Adam, but Mel had never heard of him before. This week, Mel blew up at her sister. She demanded to know if Adam had taken advantage of Becca and even started yelling at one point.
That caused a number of problems for Mel throughout the episode. She used the red phone to try to track down Adam’s parents, threw a clipboard while assisting Whitaker and Santos, and even got Becca to leave the hospital angrily. Mel later told Dana why she was so upset about Becca’s sex life. As Mel put it, she’s upset both that Becca lied by not telling her about Adam and that Becca is “abandoning” her after Mel has done so much to help her.
As Mel told Dana, she’s watched Elf hundreds of times because that’s what Becca likes to watch. Mel shapes her entire life around caring for her sister, and now her sister is having a life without her. She’s put too much of her self-worth and identity into caring for Becca, and now she’s upset that Becca is more independent than Mel realizes. Mel doesn’t seem to have much of a social life beyond her interactions with Becca, and now even that is potentially being taken away.
ICE Visited PTMC & Arrested Jesse
It was a bad week for PTMC’s nurses, as two Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents brought in a detainee they injured while arresting. In the real world, ICE has been conducting raids across America in recent months and arresting both undocumented immigrants and American citizens (via BBC). The Pitt, in its usual fashion, is providing its own commentary on the hot-button topic.
In The Pitt season 2, episode 11, the two ICE agents brought in a woman, Pranita, with a torn rotator cuff whom they had detained. The ICE agents immediately disrupted PTMC just by being there: several nurses and patients left the hospital as news spread, and they refused to leave Pranita alone or allow her to call family. Eventually, the agents tried to take Pranita away before her arm could be put in a sling, and they arrested Jesse when he tried to stop them.
It’s not clear what is going to happen to Jesse after being arrested by the ICE agents. Jesse is, presumably, a U.S. citizen, but the agents will likely say that he assaulted them. He’ll likely be taken to an ICE detention center near Pittsburgh, but PTMC’s lawyers are tied up with the impending threat of a cyberattack. It’s also worth noting that Robby essentially let the ICE agents do all this by prioritizing discharging Pranita as soon as possible instead of resisting the agents.
Al-Hashimi Saved A Woman From Dying By Suicide
The last big development of The Pitt season 2, episode 11 concerned one of PTMC’s newest patients. A child suffering from heat stroke was brought into the hospital, and his mother, Brenda, was struggling to deal with the situation. As she later explained, her son got into a hot car while she wasn’t looking, and the heat could cause permanent neurological damage. Out of guilt, Brenda tried to die by suicide by walking in front of a truck.

Dr. Al-Hashimi, however, had gone looking for Brenda and managed to pull her out of danger. Brenda was then put on an involuntary psychiatric hold. Robby later helped Al-Hashimi talk to Brenda, and it was clear that her depression and feelings of guilt were getting to him. It’s yet another sign of Robby’s deteriorating mental health in The Pitt season 2, and he’s running out of time to address it.
