LEGO Star Wars is officially releasing two brand-new Star Wars-themed LEGO sets featuring two of the franchise’s most iconic characters. While many fans will want to grab these as soon as possible, not everyone is in love with the newest set designs (via GameRant).
LEGO Star Wars Is Finally Back
LEGO Star Wars is officially back this year with two brand-new sets featuring Darth Vader and Yoda, and will be available later this year. The newest Darth Vader Bust will release on April 26 and will be listed for roughly $50 USD, while the Yoda Bust is listed around $40 USD and slated for the same release date.
Further, the Vader set will be a 349-piece bust and the Yoda bust will be 399 pieces, both intended for ages 18+. While they newest bust releases might be exciting for some collectors, not all fans are looking forward to these brand-new LEGO sets featuring the iconic Star Wars characters.
Aside from these two new bust sets, fans will be getting an upcoming batch of ships and BrickHeadz releases on April 26, including a new Razor Crest listed for roughly $150 USD, an Anzellan Starship for roughly $70, and a new AT-RT Attack set listed for about $45.
Not Every Star Wars Fan Is Happy
Unfortunately, the newest Yoda bust LEGO set has faced widespread criticism for looking a bit ridiculous, particularly due to the googly-eyes design that makes the character far more cartoonish than any previous bust releases. Fans have been putting the newest design on blast on social media, though it’s unlikely this will have a huge impact on the two sets actual sales.
As with all the LEGO Star Wars set releases, these two new busts will be a limited-edition run that are sure to fly off the shelves when they release next month, despite the online criticism over the Yoda design. There have been several Darth Vader and Yoda busts released over the years, and these are not the first to face backlash, but that hasn’t stopped collector’s from eating them up immediately after launch.
The new LEGO Star Wars busts measure over 7 in. (18 cm) high, 5.5 in. (14 cm) wide and 3.5 in. (9 cm) deep, the standard size for LEGO Star Wars busts over the years. If you’re a hardcore collector and want to make sure you get these in your library, mark your calendars for April 26.
