There are plenty of cheap and expensive Chromebooks, but not that many tablets. Lenovo plans to release a new Chromebook tablet with high-end specs, will come with the first-ever Chromebook Plus tablet designation, and will feature upgrades like quad speakers and a gorgeous high-resolution panel.
The Lenovo Sapphire Chromebook will feature a 13-inch screen with high-resolution capabilities suitable for premium iPad Pro-level competition. Detachable 2-in-1 form factor, featuring a signature four-color light bar similar to Google’s Pixel hardware. It will feature a Quad-speaker setup designed to deliver elite-level sound. It will be powered by a MediaTek Kompanio Ultra processor, which can run AI features such as Magic Editor in Google Photos, Live Caption, and the new Gemini integration on a device primarily designed as a tablet.
There aren’t many details yet because Lenovo has been slowly teasing it. However, it is expected to feature a fingerprint scanner integrated into the power button. It should also support a magnetic, wirelessly charging stylus that attaches directly to the tablet’s chassis and a unique, powered detachable keyboard that includes its own secondary battery, a feature rarely seen in Chromebook detachables.
