Courtesy of a collaboration between D20 Culture and Warner Bros. Discovery, Foes of Middle-Earth will be a must-have for any The Lord of the Rings fan.
Introducing The Lord Of The Rings: Foes Of Middle Earth
In this officially licensed board game, fans of the beloved franchise will be able to explore Middle Earth as the Fellowship and face Balrog in a terrifying display of strength. Thanks to a Kickstarter campaign, which has so far raked up a whopping £465,000 at the time of writing, Foes of Middle-Earth will consist of 500 pieces and is aimed at anything from 1–4 players. With each campaign taking around 90+ minutes, you are guaranteed to see the fictional world come to life right before your eyes in perhaps the most detailed board game of all time.
Throughout the campaign, players will be able to explore several iconic locations from Arda. Represented by individual tiles, each location can only be revealed by your hero, allowing no two playthroughs to be alike. However, with enemies trying to stop you at every turn, your heroes will need strength, courage, and resolve in order to defeat them and power onward. With each adventure culminating in an iconic standoff such as the Watcher in the Water or battling in the Halls of Moria, each step will take you closer to the final fight against Balrog themselves.
LOTR Fans Won’t Want To Miss This RPG
It may not be a video game RPG, but it is definitely the next best thing and those interested only need to look at the official Kickstarter page to see how much work has gone into this project. From handcrafted pieces to storyboards, pledge rewards, models, and more, The Lord of the Rings: Foes of Middle-Earth is a must-play for any fans of the beloved franchise, or even those who have an affinity for TTRPGs. Who knows? Maybe an official project as expansive as this may just inspire a video game adaptation, and I, for one, will be there on day one.
