Marvel Rivals’ New MCU Skin May Be Its Best Yet

Since its launch in 2024, Marvel Rivals has quickly built a reputation for its impressive and unique character designs, as well as a steady stream of cool alternate costumes inspired by both the comics and the MCU (not to mention original designs).

While the game already boasts several skins inspired by the movies and shows, its latest drop may be one of the coolest yet. This week saw the release of the first MCU-inspired skin for Matt Murdock’s Daredevil, just in time for the upcoming release of Daredevil: Born Again season 2. Here’s why this new Marvel Rivals skin for Daredevil is already one of my favorite MCU costumes.

The First Daredevil MCU Skin Has Arrived (Inspired by Daredevil: Born Again Season 2)

Released on March 13th, this new MCU-inspired Daredevil skin is exciting for a few reasons. Marvel Rivals has already featured several MCU costumes for the likes of Wolverine, Thor, Spider-Man, Iron Man, and even The Punisher inspired by his appearance in 2025’s Daredevil: Born Again season 1. However, this new costume is the first skin for Daredevil inspired by his appearances in live-action.

Unlike Daredevil’s classic red costume one might expect, the new Marvel Rivals skin is predominantly black, highlighted by a bold red DD logo on the chest, clearly taking inspiration from Charlie Cox’s upcoming appearance in Daredevil: Born Again season 2, where he’ll be boasting the same dark new look.

It’s also worth noting that Daredevil debuted in Marvel Rivals’ fourth season (“Heart of the Dragon”), which also saw the launch of maps inspired by Iron Fist’s Heavenly City of K’un-Lun. The result was the default Daredevil costume being more inspired by Asian-style armor, connecting to Daredevil’s added supernatural abilities (having harnessed the power of “The Beast” according to the game’s lore).

Essentially, this means that while Daredevil’s new MCU skin is inspired by Matt Murdock in live-action, it’s also the closest we’ve come to a classic comic book look, too.

The new Daredevil costume also comes with some very cool features. Priced at 1400 units in the in-game store, the MCU Daredevil bundle includes a special MVP animation that perfectly captures Daredevil’s fearless fighting style, shown blocking a hail of gunfire with his billy clubs.

Even better is the unique emote that shows Murdock taking a bullet to the shoulder and falling to one knee. When Daredevil stands back up, the costume has received “battle damage,” revealing more of the original red MCU costume beneath the painted black exterior.

Beyond being a super cool emote, the new feature might also be hinting at the upcoming storyline in Daredevil: Born Again season 2. After all, it’s not hard to imagine the black suit similarly giving way to Daredevil’s more traditional red over time.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Promises An All-Out Vigilante War

The new battle damage animation for the new Daredevil MCU skin actually makes perfect sense if the trailers for Daredevil: Born Again season 2 are any indication.

Now serving as New York’s mayor, Wilson Fisk has declared an all-out war on vigilantes operating in New York City. Declaring martial law and unleashing his brutal Anti-Vigilante Task Force to hunt down masked heroes, the war Kingpin has started against Daredevil and his allies is going to be huge.

Joined by allies like Karen Page and the exciting return of Jessica Jones to the MCU, Daredevil will have some support. That said, the fight that’s ahead will no doubt be more intense than anything Matt Murdock has had to face before.

Ahead of the new season’s premiere, the new MCU skin is a perfect way to celebrate the upcoming series. Between its sleek design and epic animation features, the new Daredevil skin definitely ranks high on my list of favorite Marvel Rivals costumes, and the timing couldn’t be better.

Daredevil: Born Again season 2 premieres March 24th on Disney+ from Marvel Studios.
