Massive Resident Evil Leak Outlines Multiple Long-Awaited Remakes

Resident Evil has had so many rampant rumors and leaks in the last little while that it would probably be difficult now for general audiences and average franchise fans to actually understand that no future Resident Evil game, port, or remake has been confirmed yet. But, if these rumors are true, there is likely a slew of Resident Evil games to look forward to soon.

Thankfully, user Solid-Entertainer-39 on Reddit has compiled a list of games, ports, and remakes that are rumored to be in development, as well as games that were supposedly canceled, debunked, or not in development. Complete with who leaked which project and the release windows that are supposedly planned for them, there is plenty of evidence to suggest that Resident Evil’s future will be bright and prosperous.

There Are Many RE Projects In Development

Resident Evil remake rumors are at least partway believable due to how much Capcom has invested in remaking classic installments in the franchise, and it would not make much sense for it to quit while there are a handful of others that could be remade. Anything is possible, basically, but fans should take all information about rumors and leaks with copious grains of salt, of course.

At this moment, the only games that seem like shoo-ins are Resident Evil 10 (naturally, as the mainline series continues) and a possible remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica, at least based on Resident Evil Requiem’s Easter eggs. However, according to the list that user Solid-Entertainer-39 has shared, the Resident Evil games, ports, and remakes that are rumored to be in development include:

  • Native Nintendo Switch 2 ports of the Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 remakes, allegedly slated for this year.
  • A Resident Evil Code: Veronica remake, allegedly slated for early 2027.
  • A Resident Evil 0 remake, allegedly slated for 2028.
  • Resident Evil 10, allegedly with a targeted release year of 2029.
  • A Resident Evil 1 remake, allegedly slated for after 2030.
  • A possible Resident Evil: Revelations remake.

Interestingly, this list suggests that we will not actually be receiving a remake of either Resident Evil 5 or Resident Evil 6, which would be surprising because a Resident Evil 5 remake is teased quite explicitly by the Resident Evil 4 remake and Resident Evil Village.

Rumors have stirred about Resident Evil Requiem’s official story-related DLC, also, such as Ada Wong and/or Alyssa Ashcroft being featured. It is unknown when we might learn more about it, though a 2026 release window being possible could mean that we will find out more by summer. Either way, it will be fascinating to see what is in store for the franchise.
