Michelle Pfeiffer & Taylor Sheridan’s New 6-Part Western Series Is “Even Better” In Season 2, Teases Returning Star

One of the stars of Taylor Sheridan’s brand-new Western series The Madison is teasing what fans can expect in season 2, even though the six-episode first season has yet to debut.

The Madison premieres March 14 on Paramount+ with the first three episodes followed by the final three episodes on March 21. It was filmed in late 2024, and production on the second season got underway a year later.

Now, in an interview with ScreenRant‘s Liam Crowley for The Madison, Alaina Pollack, who plays Macy, is opening up about how unique of an experience it was to film more than one season before the series had even premiered.

The actress teased that “season 2 was even better than season 1,” and she’s “excited” for everyone to see what’s coming down the pipeline in the future.

Pollack doesn’t have a lot of experience in the entertainment industry, having only appeared in the horror film The Surrender and one episode of Prime Video’s On Call, so she’s still learning how productions work.

She didn’t realize “it wasn’t normal to do another season before the first one was even out.” Getting the chance to film the second season of The Madison well ahead of time was “so exciting.”

The Madison is Pollack’s first series regular role on TV. As a result, she’s been able to spend a lot of time with her fellow cast members on set and feels like she “gained another family” while filming the show since everyone became “so close” with each other.

Oh my gosh. Season 2 was even better than season 1. I honestly feel like I’ve gained another family. We are so close, and everyone is so great, and I’m just excited. I’m excited for everyone to see season 2 as well. I haven’t done a lot of things prior to this, so I found out it wasn’t normal to do another season before the first one was even out, and I was like, “Ooh, that’s so exciting.” So I was excited.

Starring alongside Pollack on the perfect Tombstone replacement are Michelle Pfeiffer, Kurt Russell, Patrick J. Adams, Matthew Fox, Elle Chapman, Beau Garrett, Ben Schnetzer, Amiah Miller, Rebecca Spence, Kevin Zegers and Danielle Vasinova.

Several of Pollack’s co-stars have been acting since well before she was even born. Pfeiffer is best known for movies like The Witches of Eastwick, Scarface, Married to the Mob, Dangerous Liaisons, The Fabulous Baker Boys and Batman Returns.

Meanwhile, Russell has starred in Silkwood, Escape from New York, Overboard, Tombstone, Vanilla Sky, The Hateful Eight and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, among many other films. Both actors have also appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In their latest project, The Madison, the Clyburns move from New York to Montana as they attempt to deal with the aftermath of a family tragedy. Pfeiffer and Russell play matriarch and patriarch Stacy and Preston, and Pollack’s character, Macy, is one of their grandchildren.

The series is the latest Western from Sheridan, who has become famous for creating such shows as Yellowstone, 1883, Mayor of Kingstown, 1923, Tulsa King, Lioness and Landman.

He’s also executive-produced Lawmen: Bass Reeves and the brand-new CBS drama Marshals.

Aside from being the creator and writer, Sheridan also serves as executive producer on The Madison alongside Pfeiffer, Russell, Keith Cox, Michael Friedman, David C. Glasser, David Hutkin, Art Linson, John Linson, Christina Alexandra Voros and Bob Yari.

The Madison premieres Saturday, March 14 on Paramount+.
