It informed the stock exchanges on Saturday that it has come across article/tweet posted at Twitter/X.com on an X account wherein following is mentioned: “India state-controlled refiner MRPL has started shutting down parts of its 300,000 b/day Mangalore refinery due to feedstock shortages as Middle Eastern oil remains stuck in the Gulf.”

Denying this, the MRPL said that the aforesaid rumour/tweet which is factually incorrect. The company said: “MRPL is operating normal and it has lined-up adequate quantities of crude oil to sustain operations.”
A recent Reuters report, which quoted sources, had stated that the company shut down a crude unit that can process 100,000 barrels a day of crude oil, and some secondary units at its refinery in Mangaluru on Wednesday evening.
