The collaboration was formally announced at a ceremony held at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan. As part of the initiative, both organisations jointly released an interactive digital safety toolkit titled “TrueCyberSakhi: A Digital Safety Toolkit, Created for Her.”
The toolkit includes quizzes, self-assessment tools, and practical guidance designed to help women navigate online spaces more safely.
In a significant operational step, Truecaller has verified the NCW’s 24×7 helpline number on its Government Directory Service (GDS), enabling users to identify the official support channel and reducing the risk of impersonation or fraud on the platform.
NCW Chairperson Vijaya Kishore Rahatkar said the collaboration would help the commission reach women across the country with practical guidance on recognising and responding to online threats, while strengthening awareness of its helpline.
Truecaller CEO Rishit Jhunjhunwala said the partnership aims to make official support channels more visible and accessible for women, contributing to a safer digital ecosystem.
The initiative will be backed by a digital and social media awareness campaign. Truecaller has over 350 million users in India and 450 million globally. The NCW is a statutory body established under the National Commission for Women Act, 1990, mandated to protect and promote the rights of women.
