Netflix’s New 6-Part Crime Thriller Series Instantly Becomes Global Smash Hit

The only two shows above That Night on the Netflix global charts are Virgin River and One Piece, both of which recently returned with new seasons.

That Night was released on Netflix on March 13. The following day, it debuted on Netflix’s global charts at #4. After becoming an instant hit worldwide, Netflix’s new thriller series has managed to climb another spot, and it should continue to do so as the week progresses. That Night is currently trending in 70 countries, making it one of the streamer’s biggest 2026 hits.

That Night ranks as the most-watched TV show on Netflix in 14 countries, including Argentina, Panama, Serbia, Ukraine, and more. The thriller series has also found success nationwide, making it into the top 10. At the moment, That Night is Netflix’s 8th most-watched TV show in the United States. It tops Bridgerton and The Night Agent, and loses to shows like The Dinosaurs and One Piece.

That Night tells the story of three sisters, Clara Galle’s Elena, Claudia Salas’ Paula, and Paula Usero’s Cris. When one of them ends up tied to a murder on a getaway island, the other two go to her aid, but things quickly unravel from there. On Rotten Tomatoes, That Night has a solid 60% critics’ score based on only five reviews so far.

Given its recent release, the Spanish thriller series should see its RT score fluctuate as the week moves forward. That Night is based on the novel of the same name by Gillian McAllister.
