Netflix’s Spring 2026 Anime Lineup Is Absolutely Stacked

Netflix’s anime output has never been as high each season as its dedicated otaku streaming counterparts, but that hasn’t stopped them from securing consistently strong series each year. Now, Netflix has confirmed an exciting string of anime acquisitions, including brand-new series and recent hits to tie its vast viewership over through Spring 2026.

The Spring lineup will include, among other things, the next exciting arc of One Piece, other shonen favorites across action and comedy, isekai gems and fantasy adventures, and even some surprises. While some fans can’t look past certain omissions in Netflix’s Spring 2026 lineup, the streamer’s anime offerings are proving once more to be far more diverse than its excellent romances.

Netflix’s Spring 2026 Anime Lineup Includes Several Key Wins

While dedicated anime streaming services like Crunchyroll have chipped away at Netflix’s exclusivity in recent years, the streaming giant’s latest confirmed slate confirms its dedication to curating a consistently-strong selection. Anime like Dorohedoro are confirmed to return now on multiple platforms, while others, like Akane-banashi, indicate the service’s commitment to showcasing some of Spring’s greatest newcomers.

Netflix’s Spring 2026 anime lineup has confirmed the following:

Anime

Release Date

Dorohedoro

April 1

The Ramparts of Ice

April 2

Spy x Family season 3

April 4

One Piece Elbaph Arc

While some of these are unsurprising, such as One Piece’s Elbaph Arc streaming new episodes a week after their simulcast and The Ramparts of Ice, it’s still an impressive collection of excellent anime. Some shows like Spy x Family season 3 demand to be seen by the masses beyond its initial time at Crunchyroll in Fall 2025.

Netflix’s New #1 Anime Just Got the Disappointing Streaming Update That Fans Were Dreading

After conquering fans around the world as Netflix’s number 1 anime, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run has bad news about its next episode.

Other acquisitions, like Blue Lock season 1, represent more optimistic times for hit anime before their troubled second seasons, while other must-see shows like Shangri-La Frontier and My Dress-Up Darling will enjoy the added exposure. It means a solid spread across action, comedy, romance, isekai, and more, although the fandom expresses dismay over one glaring absence.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Fans Express Dismay Over Netflix’s Spring Slate

In a recent social media trend, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure fans, elated with the First Stage release of Steel Ball Run, have taken to uncanny and hilariously unsettling memes, demanding more of the acclaimed anime.

The series has taken an OVA-like approach to releasing in Stages, and while its first release provoked a positive response, the ambiguous “2026” window the 2nd Stage has set off a strange new trend. Netflix’s Twitter post promoting the slate includes uncanny, distorted fan edits of Johnny Joestar along with demands for more Steel Ball Run episodes flooding its replies.

The release schedule was bound to rub the fandom wrong in an era of instant gratification. Reasonable complainants even state that it’d have been preferable for the series to release its Stages in the same hour-long format, but at a later date and all at once. However, for those who grew up before the dawn of streaming, this is nothing new.

It’s very similar to the acclaimed OVAs from some of anime’s most beloved years. This includes acclaimed hits like the 4-installment Macross Plus which released over the course of 10 months between August 1994 and June 1995. Netflix appears to be tapping into that same magic, one which rewards patience above all else.
