Quentin Tarantino, known for his violent, non-linear story telling with films such as Pulp Fiction, Inglourious Basterds, Kill Bill, and most recently Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, has won numerous awards, and has worked with some of the most prolific actors around. While Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was potentially discussed as Tarantino’s last film, it appears there’s more to be seen.
Images shared by The Fincher Analyst and reported by What’s on Netflix, give fans the highest-quality stills released yet, connected to Tarantino’s upcoming movie, The Adventures of Cliff Booth. The images are described as the “best version” of the “first looks” from the highly anticipated sequel to the 2019 Oscar-winner.
Check out the trailer below:
Although these images and trailer are now available, they are teasers into what this world will be. The trailer, previously debuting as a Super Bowl commercial, shows stylized snapshots of Cliff Booth relaxing in a bar, a film-set and behind-the-scenes feel, a car and driving sequences, and stylized censorship effects (blurring/animation) over explicit material.
The images add a more specific tone to the film as well, one that shows a gritty, neon-soaked take on 1970s Los Angeles. The visuals appear to be darker than Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, as highlighted by the night exteriors, bars, and backrooms, and an edgy approach that leans into film noir.
While these images don’t reveal much about the plot or story quite yet, this stylistic approach, rather than giving narrative clarity, offers viewers a clearer look at some of the casting choices, as well as a definitive look at what was only available through unreleased, blurry captures after the Super Bowl release.
The Adventures of Cliff Booth is one of 2026’s most anticipated films, but what makes it unusual, beyond the fact that Tarantino rarely does sequels to his movies, is that although Tarantino wrote the script, David Fincher (The Social Network, The Killer, and Se7en) is set to direct it. The Adventures of Cliff Booth is expected to release on Netflix, along with a limited theatrical release.
Kirk Baxter will be serving as the film’s editor, with Elizabeth Debicki (The Crown, Tenet), Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Watchmen, Candyman), Carla Gugino (The Fall of the House of Usher, Gerald’s Game), and Scott Caan (Hawaii Five-0, Ocean’s Eleven) joining Pitt, as well as Timothy Olyphant, who will be returning as James Stacy, based on the real-life western actor.
What’s on Netflix reports that Tarantino is describing this as the largest budget he’s ever been associated with, as it’s in the region of roughly $200 million. This will also be a top-tier film release for Netflix, rather than a standard streaming original, adding to an already successful year for the streamer.
The marketing pattern for this film has been surprising, with one teaser placed during Super Bowl LX, followed by an absence of officially released images/trailers, but now, these images provide a bit more clarity. Although there still isn’t an explicit release date, What’s on Netflix, as well as some other outlets, have floated a possible summer release.
