New on Hulu in April 2026: ‘Malcolm in the Middle’ Reboot, ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ Spinoff and More

Hulu‘s popularity could be attributed to its vast collection of great older TV shows and movies, and some top-notch original shows, including Only Murders in the Building, Paradise and The Handmaid’s Tale. The platform’s collaboration with FX has also produced some of the platform’s most prestigious and popular shows, including The Bear, Reservation Dogs and Shogun.

This April, if you’re looking for laughs, you can catch the new original film Pizza Movie starring Stranger Things’ Gaten Matarazzo and Sean Giambrone, the new comedy special Nikki Glaser: Good Girl or the highly anticipated reboot, Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair.

Also out in April is the new series The Testaments, a continuation of the dystopian world that began with The Handmaid’s Tale. Based on the 2019 Margaret Atwood novel of the same name, The Testaments picks up years after The Handmaid’s Tale and stars One Battle After Another actor Chase Infiniti, Lucy Halliday and Ann Dowd. Here’s a look at when you can watch these titles and more of Hulu’s biggest drops this April.

The Testaments stars Chase Infiniti as Agnes, a pious young woman from Gilead, and Daisy, a new arrival to town – both of whom attend the school run by Aunt Lydia (Emmy winner Ann Dowd, back to oppress more future handmaids who step out of line). The series premieres with three episodes on April 8, with new episodes arriving weekly through May 27.

Malcolm in the Middle, the beloved sitcom that ran from 2000-2006, is back. In the rebooted mini-series, Frankie Muniz returns to the title role as Malcolm, now happily living with his girlfriend and daughter, far away from his chaotic, dysfunctional family. He reluctantly brings them to meet his parents Hal (Bryan Cranston) and Lois (Jane Kaczmarek) after they request his presence to celebrate their 40th anniversary. The roles of Malcolm’s brothers Francis and Reese are reprised by Chris Masterson and Justin Berfield, but Erik Per Sullivan, who played Dewey, has reportedly quit acting and has been replaced by Caleb Ellsworth-Clark. We’ll also see Jamie and Kelly, Hal and Lois’s youngest children, now played by Anthony Timpano and Vaughan Murrae.

The 2006 movie The Devil Wears Prada became a part of the zeitgeist almost immediately after its release. The borderline abusive relationship between fashion editor Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) and her newest assistant Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway), the legendary performance from Emily Blunt as senior assistant, Emily Charlton, the cerulean sweater monologue — it’s all unforgettable. The film not only celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, but the sequel, starring most of the original cast, is scheduled to premiere in theaters May 1. Catch the original when it arrives on Hulu April 1.
