Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man features a variety of returning faces, alongside some major new additions to the fictional universe. Nearly four years after Peaky Blinders season 6’s ending, Tommy Shelby has finally returned to screens, but the iconic character is a lot different this time around, as almost a decade has passed in the timeline since he last appeared.

In addition, a new-look version of the Peaky Blinders has also emerged and is running Birmingham, with Tommy’s son leading the gang. With younger blood taking over the crew, it was inevitable there would be fresh conflict involving new foes, and while the movie certainly has a different vibe, it undoubtedly competes with some of Peaky Blinders‘ best seasons.

Given that numerous spinoffs have been announced, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man‘s ending could give an idea about which characters may return for these upcoming projects, and which ones won’t. Fortunately, the Netflix movie is filled with incredible actors and performances, all of who help give the British crime drama the perfect return it deserves.

Cillian Murphy As Tommy Shelby

Date Of Birth: May 25, 1976

Actor: Cillan Murphy was born in Douglas, County Cork, Ireland. His first major role came in the 2002 film 28 Days Later, where he played a survivor of the zombie apocalypse, and Murphy is rumored to return for 28 Years Late’s next outing, should it happen. Since then, the actor has gone on to have an extremely successful career.

He’s starred in several acclaimed movies like Inception and Batman Begins, and he won his first Academy Award for Best Actor in 2023 after starring in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer. The pair have worked together six times, with four of these films winning Oscars.

Character: In Peaky Blinders, Cillian Murphy plays Tommy Shelby, the middle brother and leader of the Peaky Blinders from Birmingham. Tommy is known for his incredible intelligence, his strategic brilliance, and his willingness to do anything to gain power for himself and his family.

However, with The Immortal Man taking place during WWII, Tommy has changed quite substantially and is still coming to terms with his past. That said, he is once again at the heart of Peaky Blinders‘ latest conflict, returning to his old ways in a fashion that will satisfy some of the franchise’s biggest fans.

Sophie Rundle As Ada Shelby-Thorne

Actor: Sophie Rundle was born in England. Rundle’s breakthrough role came in 2013, when she began playing Ada Shelby in Peaky Blinders. Since then, Rundle has starred in several acclaimed British shows, such as Bodyguard, Gentleman Jack, and The Nest.

Character: Sophie Rundle is reprising her role as Ada Shelby-Thorne in the Peaky Blinders movie. Ada is one of the most prominent members of the Shelby family aside from Tommy himself, though her relationship with the Peaky Blinders has fluctuated over the years.

Despite not being involved quite as much in the action, Ada has a significant role in The Immortal Man and her presence is a driving force to some of the key plot points, making her return by far one of the biggest for Netflix’s hit film.

Rebecca Ferguson As Kaulo

Actor: Rebecca Ferguson was born in Stockholm, Sweden. Ferguson’s breakthrough role was in 2015’s Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, where she starred opposite Tom Cruise as Ilsa Faust.

Though Ferguson has only recently received international acclaim, the actor has had a long and impressive career before stepping into the limelight. She has also grown into a true star since 2015, as she has taken on roles in massively successful films like Dune and shows like Silo.

Character: Rebecca Ferguson takes on the role of Kaulo, the twin sister of Zelda (Duke’s mother). Like her sister, Kaulo is a spiritual Romani character and even raised Duke, making her role all the more interesting. Rather than Kaulo being Tommy’s love interest in The Immortal Man, she acts more as a spiritual guide determined to aid the lead character.

Barry Keoghan As Duke Shelby

Actor: Barry Keoghan was born in Dublin, Ireland. Keoghan’s breakthrough role came in 2017’s The Killing of a Sacred Deer, where he played Martin. Keoghan had gained quite a bit of prominence within Ireland prior to that movie, though 2017 introduced him to international fame.

Since then, Keoghan has quickly become one of the most popular young actors in the film industry. He earned an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Banshees of Inisherin, and he enjoyed quite a bit of fame from his leading role in Saltburn.

Character: Barry Keoghan has a substantial role in Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, as he stars as Tommy’s son, Duke. Along with the franchise protagonist, he is arguably the film’s most important character, with the plot largely centering around him. With a chip on his shoulder, he runs the new Peaky Blinders with complete disregard for the law or the local community.

Tim Roth As John Beckett

Actor: Tim Roth was born in Lambeth, London, England. Roth’s breakthrough role in Quentin Tarantino’s 1992 film Reservoir Dogs, where he played Mr. Orange. That role not only brought Roth to notoriety, it also started a long-lasting relationship between the actor and Tarantino.

Roth has starred in several other Tarantino films, such as Pulp Fiction and The Hateful Eight. Beyond that particular director, Roth has made a name for himself in both movies and shows, and he recently starred in the MCU through She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, where he played Abomination.

Character: Having had plenty of experience playing antagonists in the past, Tim Roth takes on the role of Peaky Blinders‘ latest villain, John Beckett. He is a Nazi sympathizer working on winning the war for Germany, needing the Birmingham-based gang’s help to carry out his plan, hence going to extremes to make it happen.

Ned Dennehy As Charlie Strong

Actor: Ned Dennehy was born in Ireland. Dennehy’s breakthrough role was in 2011’s Tyrannosaur, where he played Tommy alongside a star-studded cast that included Olivia Colman, Eddie Marsan, and more. Since then, Dennehy has mostly focused on television roles.

Character: In Peaky Blinders, Ned Dennehy plays Charlie Strong, one of the Shelby family’s non-biological uncles. He regularly works at the docks and with the Shelbys’ horses alongside Curly, and he often plays a part in the logistics of the gang’s criminal dealings. As an uncle, Charlie offers advice to Tommy frequently, though the younger man seldom listens to it.

Packy Lee As Johnny Dogs

Character: In Peaky Blinders, Packy Lee plays Johnny Dogs, a Romani cousin and employee of Tommy Shelby. Johnny Dogs is one of the key connections between the Peaky Blinders and the Shelby family’s Romani relatives, as he helped secure a marriage partnership via John Shelby. He remains Tommy’s most faithful friend and ally in The Immortal Man.

Stephen Graham As Hayden Stagg

Actor: Stephen Graham was born in Kirkby, Lancashire, England. Graham’s breakthrough role came in 2006, when he played Combo in This is England. Prior to that, however, Graham also began gaining notoriety for Guy Ritchie’s 2000 film Snatch, which he starred in alongside Jason Statham.

Character: In Peaky Blinders, Stephen Graham plays Hayden Stagg, a dockworker union leader. Graham is reprising the role which he began portraying in series 6 of the show. Stagg once again acts as a loyal ally to Tommy, willing to help him in even the most audacious of plans, despite being aware of the risks involved.

Jay Lycurgo As Elijah

Actor: Jay Lycurgo was born in England. Lycurgo’s most notable role to date has been as Tim Drake, aka Robin, in the live-action DC Comics show Titans. While Lycurgo hasn’t had many projects beyond Titans, he has, interestingly, already appeared again in the DCEU, as a reluctant member of the gang who is beaten up at the beginning of The Batman.

Character: Lycurgo plays Elijah in the Peaky Blinders film, Duke’s right-hand man in the gang’s new iteration. He is smart, confidently spoken, and also calm in the face of conflict, knowing when the right time to be aggressive is, alongside when it’s time to defuse any tension.

Peaky Blinders’ Supporting Cast & Characters

Ian Peck: Ian Peck will reprise his role as Curly in the Peaky Blinders movie. Curly is a stable hand and ferry boat steward who works for the Shelbys. Though he isn’t the brightest, Curly is tremendous with horses, and has proven himself a valuable member of the Peaky Blinders in the past.

Kasper Hilton-Hille: Kasper Hilton-Hille plays Karl Thorne, the son of Ada Shelby in Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man. The character was previously played by George Gwyther, but given the timeline jump between season 6 and the Netflix movie, Karl is significantally older, and fiercely supportive of his mother.
