PlayStation Drops 4 New Free Downloads You Can Check Out Without PS Plus

The weekend is finally here and whilst we wait for some of the year’s biggest releases, Sony is giving us the chance to get our hands on some PlayStation titles for absolutely free. From an adventure game featuring an unlikely duo to a horror game revival, and much more, we have compiled a short list of some of the best freebies up for grabs over on the PlayStation Store right now.

So, if you are on the lookout for yet another game to add to your never-ending wishlist, these games are guaranteed to pique your interest enough to pursue that full release.

PlayStation Gamers Shouldn’t Miss These New Demos

First up is Damon and Baby, an action-adventure game that combines shooting and a whole lot of exploration. Developed by Arc System Works and launched just this week, it follows the story of an unlikely duo as they explore areas, defeat enemies, and power up the demon king Damon. With all manner of guns in your arsenal, you will be able to choose how you clear out each area, but with boss battles waiting at the end of each stage, you had better make sure that you are prepared. The demo for Damon and Baby is available on the PlayStation Store now.

Next is FATAL FRAME II: Crimson Butterfly REMAKE, a remake of the early 2000s horror game, and the sequel to the first game in the Fatal Frame survival horror franchise. Rereleasing this March, the remake once again follows the story of twins Mio and Mayu as they explore a ghost-filled village where they are forced to reenact a failed ritual. Using the iconic Camera Obscura, players must cleanse the town of the evil spirits and find a way to rescue the twins before it is too late. If you are unsure if the remake will capture the same magic as the original, PlayStation’s free demo is guaranteed to help you make up your mind. If all else fails, check out our review which calls the Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake, “a survival horror treasure.”

You Don’t Need PlayStation Plus For These

That is not all, as there are two more free demos to talk about, and better yet, you will not need a PlayStation Plus subscription to be able to download these absolute gems. Next is Panic House: Awakening, a horror game which will see you awaken in an abandoned prison with no memory of how you got there. With the doors unlocked, you will be able to move freely throughout your prison, but the further you descend through the corridors, the sooner you discover the truth behind the failed experiment that turned the facility into a walking nightmare. With puzzles to solve, zombies to kill, resources to hoard, and secrets to uncover, Panic House: Awakening offers an eerie environment where every decision could lead to survival, or death.

Last, but by no means least, is Yet Another Zombie Survivors. In this 2023 bullet-hell title, players will fight hordes of zombies by assembling their team and finding the best synergies to wipe out thousands of the undead. Decide your teammate’s enhancements and send them into war as they survive, evolve, and most importantly, “break all the limits in this deceivingly simple but addictive bullet heaven game.”
